This has nothing to do with the Torres thing and I'd rather not bring it up again or discuss it but Vertonghen once again appeared to deliberately pull Ravel Morrison's shorts down when through on goal as he did with Villa's Nicklas Helenius in the Carling Cup. I'm not sure when and where it's become acceptable to do this and is it's highly intrusive as well as the fact it breaks the rules. West Ham won 3-0 yesterday and the media haven't flagged it up but I just wonder if it's something we'll see other players doing in the near future and why there has been no warning from the FA over this. I don't like to see any players banned but one of the things I hate about modern football is the media having free reign to select the incidents they don't like a flag them up to the FA and then ignore other parts of what goes on.
He got away with it against Villa, so think he tried his luck again. Thankfully, Morrison was too quick and too strong and buried Spurs.
the bloke is just another in a long line of cheats, its gone beyond gamesmanship now and as you say DL the press seem to dictate. nothing winds me up more than a player going down holding his face to get a fellow pro carded when he has not even touched there. the only way to stamp it out is to punish after the game, f*ck all this we will not do anything because the ref took no action at the time cobblers.
Ashley Cole used to pull Ronaldos shorts down every time we played Man U. All he had to do was ask nicely and they'd have dropped like a stone anyway !!!!
I think you'll find it was West Ham who pulled our pants down When did this happen, DL? I don't remember seeing anything close to it.
Terry and Bale know how to defend themselves against this tactic though... please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
I wondered what that was hanging out of the bottom of Terry's shorts then realised it was the man behinds arm. Think a trip to specsavers is needed lol
