Time to stare at your screen and bend spoons. If they win today it's game over and play off fun for us. Come on you Trotters. please log in to view this image
They fully deserve it from what I´ve seen, play some lovely stuff and score plenty of goals, will be a breath of fresh air in the PL.
Watford and Bournemouth have played nice attacking football but I am still dissapointed that we have missed out.
Bournemouth have played a vibrant, exciting brand of football from day one - and scored hat-fulls of goals. Credit to them, their young manager and I look forward to seeing how they cope next season. Obviously sad it's not us up there, but 45 games = a marathon not a sprint, and we flagged at roughly the half way stage
Congratulations to Bournemouth. They did it playing expansive football. If not us, very glad it was them and not Boro.
Nobody wanted you to pick up your winnings more than me mate, bit gutted to be honest but at least we are still in the mix . Putting out a 2nd side against Fulham to avoid injuries or suspension would be a good idea. Maybe KIO will do the play off threads.
Who do you prefer in the two-legged semis... Derby or Ipswich? I can't look past a Norwich v Ipswich final. It would be immense. Problem is Derby with their strikers back suddenly look a little handy again.
Brentford could pinch 6th at Derby's expense . I don't fancy playing any of them on past experience other than the binmen.
I don't mind another year down here but I doubt Redmond Hooper Olsson and a few others would hang around. The 2 games against Boro were the most painful this term a repeat of that in the play offs would be like root canal surgery .
Sadly, if we manage to sneak up through the play offs, many of next season's games would be rather like that. Although Neil would allow the players to express themselves, whereas his predecessor didn't. It's difficult to see beyond Bournemouth, Watford and whoever joins them struggling in the bottom 5/6 most of next season, sadly.
But having said that, I'd still be happy to achieve promotion. Hell's teeth, little ol' Naarrrge managed three (3) seasons last time round, two of which were perfectly respectable mid-table finishes The same - or similar again, and we may see some redevelopment of the fortress and 4/5000 extra seats added.
