On the Monday before the race, one of the F1 moderators will assign random numbers to the twenty-four drivers taking part in the Canadian GP and random letters to the twelve teams (from A to X, two letters to each team). The numbers and letters will be PM'd to another moderator to ensure complete propriety. The F1 teams and their drivers will be split into three tiers: Tier 1 (Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes), Tier 2 (Renault, Sauber, Toro Rosso, Force India), and Tier 3 (Williams, Team Lotus, Virgin Racing, HRT). 2. Members should choose one unique number from 1 to 24 and one unique letter from A to X and post that number/letter combination on this thread before the start of the first free practice session (15:00 BST on Friday), e.g. 3M or 16-B. If somebody posts your number or letter before you do then tough - you have to choose another. First choice counts - you can't change it later. Nor can you trade with other members. 3. On Thursday 9 June the list of numbers and drivers, letters and teams and forum members will be posted on this thread. Please note that each team will therefore be assigned to two forum members. 4. The member whose driver qualifies highest in each tier and the member whose driver finishes the race highest in each tier will each get 'I Know The Score' points from one of the moderators. Therefore, there will be three 'successful' qualifying drivers (25 points each) and three 'successful' race drivers (50 points each). 4b. The members whose team qualifies highest in each tier and the member whose team finishes the race highest in each tier will each get 'I Know The Score' points from one of the moderators. Therefore, there will be three 'successful' qualifying teams (25 points each) and three 'successful' race teams (50 points each). 5. For the next race we will do it all over again with new numbers assigned to drivers and picked by members, new letters assigned to teams and picked by members, and probably new rules to make it even more exciting/complicated. Don't we stick with the same number each time then? I may as well stick with number 9 for the whole season Genji. It makes my life slightly simpler. And thanks again for this great idea.
Sorry cosicave, you can't block book the number 9. If you want it then you need to get in here on 6 June and choose it, along with a letter from A to X. If someone else gets in there first then it's gone, sorry.

I hope we're not making it too complicated. Just remember to choose a number and a letter on Monday and the mods will sort out the rest.
Whose bright idea was a 6am opening?! I'll end up not getting a number or a letter because I'll still be in bed when they've all gone!
Mine. I doubt all the numbers will have gone before 7am on Tuesday so I shouldn't worry. If you are concerned you can always set your alarm and go back to sleep after you've picked a number. Wasting the best part of the day, though.
I'm normally a morning person, but revising until 3am appears to have ruined that, never mind. I'm sure I'll get a chance to pick, I'm not too worried!
we should keep our original numbers and each race one mod assigns a list with 1-24 in any order, another mod assigns the drivers list in a similar way and the third combines the 2.
The number and letter lists are generated at random using excel so its as random as we can make it. Still feel we should pick numbers each week to allow the ones who didn't make it last week in
lol, ok they can join in a new game based on it. before the race and the drivers list is assigned everyone uses the number list to guess the order the race finihses in, the most correct wins.
