Temporary blip down to the Olympics. We're all doomed. See the fat slimeball Salmond is getting exposed day after day. ****in hilarious.
On the face of it, aye. But on Question Time last night folk were blasting the figures. Ticket sales for the Olympics taken a year ago and stuff like that was included. Basically, the suspicion is that the next set of figures will show a drop which, if followed by another quarter's drop equals a triple dip recession. Which has got to be a Depression, surely?
Also heard on the news this morning Westminster's latest idea. Capping the benefits of families with more than two children. Apparently, this is to stop people "breeding for benefits". Now, I know **** all about the benefit system, but is that even possible? How much are they getting in benefits that makes it financially viable to pop oot weans as a career?
Tenders have dried up again, last time that happened the UK went into recession. On the other hand, I've got 12 months worth of work so GIRFUY!!!
I've got 3 months confirmed work lined up On the other hand, the contract market seems to be pickin up a little. Mibby time to back contracting.
Ford have announced 1400 job losses. Aye we're back on track alright. On the plus side Abduls in Brixton have announced it is taking on two paper boys on a job share scheme. Great news.
Again, from QT last night, 80% of the children in poverty in the UK are from working homes - not workless ones. Of those 80%, I've no idea how many are from families with more than 2 kids - but they'll be the ones getting humped - not the folk in kitchen sink estates on incapacity with 10 weans that the Tories say this is targetting. Since the Tories took over, I'm well worse off - I got a bit extra from the tax cut but their lowering of the threshold for the Family Credit meant I don't get that at all any more and won't - so I can't afford to send my youngest to nursery and the local authority don't have enough spaces to deal with the extra demand. Woman from the council told me I'm on a waiting list but, as I don't get housing benefit and my child is not registered as being in danger , we're unlikely to ever get to the top of it. I pay my mum a part time wage to take the middle one to school and take the wee one during the day - I get paid quite a lot and my missus wage isn't bad but the cost of having a family (shopping etc) is rocketing. It's getting to a stage where only junkies and millionaires can afford to have weans. How people figure out you have weans to get money is beyond me - do these nuggets not clothe or feed their kids, buy them anything for Christmas, birthdays, take them swimming, none of that ****?
About ****in time... There are many long term unemployed, mainly through choice, having large families! If you cant support yourself, then you cant afford to support a family! This applies to those also in work... stop having kids if you are struggling to support what you have already!
Software developer. I consult to client companies and build desktop and web applications and databases to meet their business requirements. The money is excellent when the work is around.
Everyone stop having kids. That'll help the ageing population issue I earn quite a lot and I cannae afford my kids fuxake. I never chose to have any of them - one change of pill brand, one burst bag and one coil that couldnae contain my radioactive wrigglers. The money saved in this is a drop in the ocean compared to the corporate tax dodged in the country. If a kids mum and dad are arseholes, trying to starve them of money to force them into work is like applying sanctions on a dictatorial country - you're punishing the weans. If you want to stop long term unemployed from taking the pish, unite contributions and non-contributions based benefits. I wasn't aware of the difference until a guy I knew told me some stories from his days in the DSS. It's these plamphs that have never worked that are taking the piss - taking money off folk that are nurturing the future taxpayers of the country is wide of the target.
Just under £40k - don't get any bonus, though It's not as much as a lot of folk on here, no doubt, but you'd expect it to be enough to live comfortably.
The benefit system in the UK is seen as an easy option... **** work when you can get benefits. I hear this on the bus a lot - from ****s that dont work but get free bus passes They need to do someting to discourage life on teh dole as an option! How many Uk households have peopel who have never worked a day in thier life? How many people see benefits as their right? How many people simply dont give a **** about what effect them sitting on thier arse and breeding like ****ing rabbits and claiming every penny they can? The whole benefit system is ****ed...
