Woke up this morning full of intent to drive back to Sunderland for the game however I could not be arsed, I could see this coming plus as I had promised my ticket to a friend - I was going to have to buy another. I'm getting no enjoyment at all from saying this but I could see this coming, it really is typical of Sunderland and it has been going on for years - in fact ever since the team started to include a higher proportion of foreigners. Does it mean that as they cannot relate to the City of Sunderland as it is just a glorified cash cow to them so playing at home makes not a jot of difference other than the inconvenience (not motivation) of an added weight of expectation. Losing today will be the nail in the coffin..not mathematically down but psychologically, we are dead and buried if we cannot find a way to put the ball in the back of the oppositions goal in these circumstances. I still support the club, but I'm just empty of feelings towards it and feel dis-enfranchised, if they were playing in my back garden I would possibly close the curtains. Sorry lads.
I empathise with pretty much all that you say bar this mate. I'm afraid that's just defeatist and the downside of it is it can be infectious. You win some, you lose some. This isn't over yet, nor is the season.
With Stoke going 1-0 up, and West Ham down to 10 men against Fulham this could the nightmare scenario. I'm reaching for the Christmas Whisky and my favourite glass, new year - same auld sh1te........same auld cure.
My dad has always said that it wouldnt matter who we had out on the pitch, SAFC will always be ****e! For the past 2-3 seasons, ive started to agree with him! For the most part, whatever team we put out, they always seem to underachieve! I bet if we had Barcelonas squad, we would still just about qualify for the champions league by finishing 4th!
**** off ...... it might be for weak willed defeatists I just hope the players don't give up so easily.
We were the better team today, the luck is still running against us. I am still giving full support until the end of the season.
Smug, wake up and smell the coffee man, I'm surprised the bookies are not paying out. Its not defeatist, its realist, your a fantasist, get real.
Definitely not. I even genuinely admire your optimism. You can't have a dig at people though for being realists.
I travel quite a way these days to see a game and I'm not getting any younger - this is time I will never get back. Time is very valuable to me for a number of reasons so I'm not willing to waste a minute more of it on this shower of ****e. My seat will be filled ay every home game so I'm supporting by proxy if you like, if you don't then that is your problem not mine.
Fair enough Gustav, I live 6000 miles away and can only watch on TV so supporters that can go to matches definitely have bragging rights
We're 4 points adrift with loads of games to come ...... 4 points. If you fancy a friendly £100 bet I'm on The reason the bookies aren't paying out is because they're level headed realists.
All I said was that we're the bottom side and it won't be easy ....... not having a dig unless people try to get one in first mate
**** charity ...... I give loads to charity year in year out. If you want to bet me now that Sunderland will be relegated I'll bet you £100 they won't. Not being difficult mate but we're 4 points adrift of some **** teams and the transfer window coming up. You're convinced we're going down, that's you business ....... personally I think the club, and the supporters, have more about them than to give up at this stage.
