A good mate of mine who comes to games with me is out there. His hotel is about 5 miles from the murders, they are under lock down and flying back today. Beginning of the week his FB page had a picture of his watford flag hanging from his hotel balcony.

Hi Yorkie - not at Rotherham, but he came with us a fair few games last season. Thankfully he is home safe and sound - although he was held at Gatwick for 5 hours to be interviewed by the Police

A most beautiful tribute to Chris Dyer <rose>

and this sad story about his wife:

A Watford woman was shot in the face as she clasped onto her dead husband during the beach resort terror attack in Tunisia, a national paper has reported.
Gina Van Dort, 30, was reportedly shot under the chin by the gunman, with the bullet exiting through her eye, while husband Chris Dyer, 32, is thought to have been shot in the head by AK47 rounds as the couple ran for cover into the Imperial Marhaba hotel garden.
Mrs Van Dort was due to be flown back to the UK overnight by the RAF with the remaining five British survivors of the holiday massacre.

The national press has reported that when Mrs Van Dort came round from emergency surgery, her facial injuries had left her unable to speak.
However, she wrote a note to hospital staff immediately asking for her wedding ring, which had been removed for the operation.

Players and fans observe a minutes silence

OFFICIAL CLUB STATEMENT: Chris Dyer - Tunisia
EVERYONE at Watford FC is deeply saddened to learn of the deaths connected with the recent Tunisia atrocity – and in particular Hornets’ fan Chris Dyer, who was on holiday with his wife Gina Van Dort.
“The thoughts of all of the players and staff are with Chris’s family and friends, as well as for Gina's recovery,” said Watford CEO Scott Duxbury.
    ...
“As well as having observed today’s (Friday July 3) national minute’s silence, the club will of course offer its full support to Chris’s family.”
