If we are to raid Tottenham for 2 of there players ........... please o please lets get the right 2 ...
Spellings excuse me but Krancjar and Pavleychencko are by far the the better 2 to follow the rumours of Crouch and Palacious !!
All be it Crouch is a clas player !
But them boys can play !
Come on Tone ! We are all waiting !!!

UTP

Heard from someone who works at the stadium that Crouch was having a look around the Brit the other day, also Barton was having a gander.

Ive thought that too, this year we've been linked with crouch and defoe, but last season we were linked with pavalechenko, who I'd prefer out of the three, but heard no rumours about him this year.

Don't hold your'e breath on this one lads.

Pav and Krancjar would love them. But, Defoe I hear has turned down Newcastle Utd?
Is it because of wages or he thinks a bigger club, no offence to them at all will make a bid for him.
Either way if anyone thinks we've a chance in hell of signing him forget it.

How I hope and pray that I am proved wrong on this but that "wage cap" we have isn't Mr P pretty stubborn or is it Mr Coates won't give him the cash.

Any of those would cost a lot more than our top earner's. So begs the question, why if it's true would we be even thinking about it.

We can but hope Potts,
We could still sign someone on bigger wages, in the Sentinel when it said about Crouch they mentioned paying a higher transfer fee, so the player gets a lump of that, rather than the higher wages they're used to. I'm guessing they have seperste budgets for transfers and wages, but I can't really see how paying them a lump sum of the transfer payment is any different from paying more wages, cause I'm pretty sure it would add up to the same amount.

To be honest mate, I never read too much into what anyone say's. I didn't know this Crouch deal, if it does happen meant a higher fee.
Still, if Crouch get's a lump some of the said fee. Tony is going against this wage cap which was the problem with Carlton Cole.

Let's just see what,or if anything does happen and hope the club suprise us with a decent signing. Just reading the Spurs board and they are saying that pav..
isn't on arry's xmas card list, surplus to requirements maybe?

I know aye, I try not to read into it too much, but paper talk is all we have to go on, and I need something to occupy me on my breaks!

Re wages and transfers, didn't we pay Sunderland more so they'd help with Jones' wages? I remember hearing something along those lines. You never know what's actually going on and what's just lazy journalism though!

Surely if it's a wage problem Tony could use the loop hole of paying extra for a player so that the club he's buying from could pay the extra wages, so as not to disgruntle the rest of the team?

Pav is our best striker, followed by Defoe. You sure you don't want Keane?
