We are into the final run of games for the league with our next couple of fixtures potentialy season defining. All four of Arsenal, Chelsea, City and Liverpool are still in the race with games still to be played amongst those 4 teams.

    Our remaining fixtures are:

    Chelsea (A)
    Swansea (H)
    City (H)
    Everton (A)
    West Ham (H)
    Hull (A)
    Newcastle (H)
    West Brom (H)
    Norwich (A)

5 Home games and 4 Away games left to play. 3 against top 6 opposition (two in the title race) and 6 games against teams who are mid to bottom of the table teams, many of which will hopefully have nothing left to play for by the time they play us.

As important as the big games against Chelsea and City will be, with losses in those games we could still end the season with a high points total.

What do you think we will manage against the big teams? And how many points can you see us getting total from our remaining games? Will that be enough for the title?

For the last 5 years the average required points to win the title is 86.8 (89, 89, 80, 86, 90 - note in many years the team in second was far behind).

We've got nine games to play and 27 points to play for.
If and it's a big if we were to get maximum points then I think we'll win the league

If we come away with 1 or 0 points vs City and Chelsea, or even just 2, then forget about winning the league, we're going to need 4 points at least from those 2 games. I've said it before, and will say it AGAIN, unless we beat the teams around us, forget about the title, we're not going to win this league by beating the **** teams only, in fact that was quite apparent for the whole season when anyone just took a look at the league table and how tight-close it's been.

I was quite optimistic about our chances before but our record against the top teams has been poor. As 87 says its coming down to playing Chelsea and man city now. We really need to take something from those games, draws are a bare minimum. If we can get that, not only do we restrict them but we are in striking distance. We've been consistent elsewhere and the rest of the fixtures are quite favourable.

We can do it but we need to be more positive against chelsea and city.

A reasonable run-in means they'll know where they stand after the Everton game. If they're in contention then (within 4 points probably) they have a good chance.
