They've built a building in Belfast to commemorate the fact that Belfast built the Titanic.

They are holding an MTV music event in the city as well to mark the date.

Why to hell are we so proud of building the world's biggest cock up, the ship that sank first time out?

If it was me in charge of this situation I'd be trying to keep it quiet.

Moreover, Belfast is responsible for the painful dirge that is Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" :(

It was built by the loyal people of Ulster, who actively didn't let the natives work in their ship yard - I think it's all yours <ok>

The titanic never sunk, it was its sister ship, the carpathian, which was struggling to get insured. They aimed for the iceberg and the real titanic was supposed to pick up survivors. Unfortunately this ships crew were pressganged into faking the moonlanding and hiding Maddys body so never made it in time....

The mere mention of the word Titanic makes me cringe. Its the only feckin thing we have to hang our hats on over the past century and it got a bit old decades ago. Move on to **** and stop wasting millions on what (The Titanic Quarter) is almost guaranteed to end up a white elephant. Whoever did the economic appraisal of that funding application needs a kick in the balls
