This thread is for positive thoughts only! Apart from this thought- Okay it was a disappointing loss tonight, but we weren't outplayed or outclassed, we just gifted them 3 silly goals. Gerrard again came on tonight and it felt like he had never been away, lovely crisp passing, deep surging runs and great link up play, this boy if he can keep fit will be like a new signing. Spearing was probably our best player tonight, very composed on the ball and broke down Citys attacks well. Carroll looks a like decent striker when Gerrard is on the pitch, he suddenly remembers to move and not stand in the same place. Progress. It's still mathematically possible to win the league. We're still in the F.A. Cup We're still in the Carling Cup Agger has kept fit for more than 10 games One of the best defensive records in the league Feel free to add!
The score line was flattering. This was probably the hardest game we had left this season Enrique is the dogs bollocks

I think I'll stick to this thread. As soon as we lose people start popping up all over the place questioning our entire season/squad. Are the same people praising our squad when we win? No. Anyway, positives... 3-0 flattered them, and I thought the same last season. Our ball retention is very good, and I thought Henderson was good in the first half too. p.s Don't bother reading the bbc report, it appears to have been written by someone who saw the result pop up on SSN.
Henderson has really impressed me since he's joined, he reminds me a bit of Lucas in his early days, good passing rate but most of it sideways and backwards, but he has a great engine on him and good awareness
Gerrard got some more minutes which will help him gain match fitness. And we've got, in my opinion, the hardest away game of the season out of the way.
Good point, We've been to Chelsea, Arsenal, City and Spurs all away and not forgetting Stoke And even though we lost tonight, you don't get fourth with these sort of games, you take what you can and beat the rest!

As i've said elsewhere. Focus on winning our bread and butter games and achieving our immediate goals. Once we improve over the next couple of seasons then we will be in a better position to expect wins against the best teams away consitantly. I mean guys we have beaten Chelsea twice and Arsenal away who are our immediate competitors.
Positive theories: 1. We lost on purpose to prevent united going top;* 2. We weren't the only ones to lose a match this week we could've won and maybe should've won had we had anyone on the pitch who could actually convert the round thing into the net.** * Nice dream, would be hilarious if true, but nothing more than a deluded pipe dream... ** We didn't. Citeh are supposed to be the best team in the league atm, but they haven't actually been that good recently. Maybe they were due a win to shut up their critics. Shame it had to be against us! 3. Kick up the arse we needed *** *** oh, wait a minute...
Excellent point, it is beating the teams at the bottom that we need to improve on...........................
I thought we played quite well last night we just have no penetration we dominated possession and had the same shot's on target as them, either they are not as good as everyone say's or we are one or two player's away from challenging for the title.
positives: 1. nobody got injured 2. gerrard will be getting fitter as we go. 3. we are protecting bellamy well and this means he will be able to play more minutes for us in the next game. 4. Its january so the window is open.
And..... we played the very best city had to offer hand flogged them 2 goals that are easy to eliminate so next time out i nthe carling cup we've got a change QUICKLY to put it right... which is nice.
