    So boys and girls...

When was the last time you can remember feeling really positive and upbeat about all things black and white?

Was thinking about this at Lunch and I think for me, the last period of positivity was just before the sale of Cabaye in Jan 2014.

We'd just beaten Chelski 2-0 and Man Utd 1-0 at their place and I actually thought we showed a great togetherness at that point.

That togetherness translated into goals and performances and it was great to see Remy in full flight at defenders and Cabaye pulling all the midfield strings.

For me... once we sold Cabaye things turned for the worse and haven't improved since but that period before the sale was a really good time to be a Mag.

West Ham when we won 3-1 and Cabaye scored the free kick. Absolutely fantastic feeling. We had a fairly good side and could have built on the win. But no. The club as usual decided to stamp that out. ****ing pricks.

Not even before then since your best player was obviously putting themselves in the shop window?

When Cisse scored those 2 amazing goals v Chelski at The Bridge. I thought we might actually make Champions League after that game. Since then it has been the most depressing time as a Toon fan in my life. I cant remember seeing such a jaw droppingly awful NUFC since the eighties.
Sorry I tried to be positive but I cant help myself at the moment.

I'm not sure. Even in that 5th placed season I knew it was all going to fall to pieces really. I felt positive when I saw Aarons in that youth game and the Schalke game. I thought "****ing hell, this kid has everything, he could be anything". I just thought regardless of what was going on or the fact he'd get sold, at least I was going to get to watch a potential world beater develop at our club for a short period. Then he never played <laugh>

Then there was the time when Ashley first joined, getting rid of the old regime, then Fat ****ing Sam who had sucked all enjoyment from a Saturday. Only to find that Mike was a ****wit intent on only cheap ****e <laugh>

I think the last bit of genuine positivity which amounted to anything was Sir Bobby's reign. We knew we had the right man, and he just did the simple things right. Like picking the right players, playing them in the right positions, knowing how to manage different characters, and generally just resembling a manager. After that it has just been a rollercoaster of mainly ****ty downs with the odd up. The championship and first year back was great I have to say. We had genuine players like Barton, Nolan, Harper, Carroll, Best, Loverman, Raylor, Jose etc. They put in a shift every week and there was a connection with the fans.

5-1 and a chicken dance. That was the last truly amazing day that filled me with pure delight.

There's an easier variant, called Werewolf, if we fancy another crack?

Basically there's werewolves, a doctor, a seer and the villagers. During the night, werewolves kill someone, doctor "saves" someone, seer "has a vision" about someone (i.e. whether a werewolf or not), then in the morning the villagers chat and end up lynching someone they feel is a werewolf.

Yohan was a proper player. And I think he really enjoyed playing for the NUFC fans. He just couldn't stick playing for this regime.

There was only one reason he came to Newcastle and that was to move to a bigger/better club. He said as much throughout his time here. Sissoko is the same. Debuchy was the same and Janmaat now is the same.

I have no problem with this. As long as I they give 100% and provide some moments of magic then I am happy. If the club cant match their ambitions then they have every right to want to move on. I would rather have a season or two of players like this than a having to watch players who are not good enough to
