I'll agree that the PC brigade have gone too far but not all people are as strong willed as you and need protecting by laws that stop these bigots venting their hatred and blighting peoples lives just because the wrapping is a different colour. I think your point about colour is well made and mature, though history suggests it is used against black people more often with more venom.So I am all for penalties for racial slurs. Your main point though is the most important, Ferdinand was using absolutely vile slurs against Terry, who retaliated. The thing that I cant get my head around in all this is, that JT has been the captain of the club for 9 years and captain of a side that has been mixed race throughout! He clearly is very very friendly with most of the team! I have been a fair few hospitality do's in the restaurants at SB where he has been chatting up the punters with Didier, Ash, Jimmy- Floyd et al and they all looked like bosom buddies ---AND they weren't putting on an act!
I honestly do not see the difference in a Black person calling a white person an effin white Cnut and visa versa! As the saying goes, beauty is only skin deep. So is a persons colour. One of the best posts I've seen on this whole sorry affair. Well done son. Fact is both Anton and Terry were going at it, Anton by all accounts seems to have started it anyway using some very abusive, foul and offensive language and comments so can hardly now play the victom even IF Terry has said what was alleged. They are both idiots and what we should be addressing is not a one off incident where no one even heard anything, but the general conduct of players on the field of play.
