We have to remember this is not Harrys team but that of Hughes, the guy who has nearly ruined us. He has stated that there are a few who are over paid for what they bring to the club and to me that's a clear sign that he doesn't want certain players and wants his own. I for one will not judge him with Hughes team, we were terrible today and a striker along with a centre back are a necessity! before you shoot me down, i would welcome either Cole or lampard. 1. they are English. 2. they know the league. 3. have something to prove and 4. i think harry is a higher class warnock in the respect that he gets players in who people may doubt and gets that little extra from them. today, i thought onohua was our better player which says a lot and i also thought diakite couldn't run around a athletics stadium as he can only do straight lines! we have some poor players who suited playing on a Sunday but these were not harrys purchases. we WILL stay up.
love the optimism bob but that was really bad today. It was like the Southampton performance all over again. There is actually no evidence to suggest we can stay up at the mo - we're either a) absolute **** or b) we get really stuck in, play ok but it doesn't go our way. Both of those are going to get us relegated. There's no flukey victories, no going 1 up against the run of play and holding on, no comebacks from 2 down, nothing. And to add to that there's not enough fight. We're actually going backwards from last years team at the moment. Needless to say, i hope you're right.
No one should blame Harry, though it's disheartening to see defenders come on in place of attackers to hang onto to a 0-3 defeat. I'd take Lampard like a shot - he's clearly still got a lot to offer. Cole I'm more cautious about, but for a rest-of-the-season loan with wages subsidised by Liverpool, I could have my arm twisted...
