    Don’t be crazy, man.

    It’s obviously Gates and Bezos.

    I don't believe so, I don't think they're connected.

I expect there to be significant money spent, on and off the pitch, which wouldn't have altered with or without Donald.

It's not that mate, there was to be a USA investor, so SD decided he wanted out, but KLD decided he wanted to take a bigger share and blag the investor.

That's not quite right from what I was told.

The 'investor' approached KLD and was refused.

In any case why would that make Donald want out, nothing would change for him. It seems KLD took the shares because they were available and he has first refusal. It's not as if he had a desperate need for them.

It does show how committed he is though, which is a good thing.

I reckon Donald left either because he couldn't afford to chip in anymore or he needed to cash out to work on the Eastleigh project. Dreyfus bought him out because that's always been his plan. He's wanted full control from the start but he's been happy to play the long game.

Yeah. I don't think GF really had a sniff to be fair. Was always going to go to KLD and JS. More so KLD who has been running the long game since the start.

He was the one who wanted a full takeover and, at one point, believed the deal was done ...

... it was Donald who wrecked that deal.

As it happens I think KLD is much better for the club but, at the time, Donald was playing with the future of the club.

Aye those two would have appeared to set us back by arsing around and trying for a better deal for themselves.

But that’s all history now, KLD is a proper football person coming from a football owning family and that’s got to stand for something.

When Donald realised it was starting to collapse he started borrowing money from FPP ...

.. it could've gone seriously wrong.

Happy days now Donald has finally skulked off, as you say.

Also, both KLD and JS,being football people, with their own sources of finance, will likely be able to agree any further outside investment with the right people, rather than an ill informed hedge fund, looking for a quick buck.
I'd love to know how much they paid SD for his 9%.

Glad someone put who GF was!

Now we have KLD I'm happy the deal with him fell through. He wasn't in it for football.

To be fair he was more into the football aspect than the other two. He goes to Chelsea games with an English friend.

Agree with you about KLD, we're blessed ...

... and he doesn't have the embarrassing baggage that some owners have.

Fair enough, at the time I'd have snapped your hands off to get them in. But now we have KLD and in the cold light of day, I have thought they wouldn't care about football really!

With KLD he wants the club self sustaining but I don't think he wants to make a profit, seems like it is a hobby for him something to do. Something to take his mates to. He wants the team to do well but doesn't want to buy the success.
