50% lazy because it's quicker to type 50% legacy from the KLD deal I think everyone knows the crack though tbh. I'd like those two to go but I don't think it's a major problem. If it was a serious issue KLD would buy them out imo.
I've absolutely no idea what to make of it, baffling. The Dell people wanted to move the shop to the ticket office and combine the two. I thought that was a good idea especially as the current shop is badly placed on match days. And you'd probably need less staff tbh. Surely the cost of a few staff is worth opening, even if we just break even. It's absolutely crazy and the kind of thing RAWA should be clearing up. It's really winding everyone up isn't it. Even on a gig night you'd flog a load of gear.
I remember the talk around moving the club shop to black cat house. I thought they linked the systems up to sell tickets from the club shop now as well. They haven't got any Nike home shirts available online now either, just the Avec version. For the sake of a few staff they should have the place open and get all of last seasons stuff sold off.
I think I went to school with him, and he wasnt nicking anything, just having a ride on the shale wagons down to the docks
There was a suggestion that the Uni, the AOL, etc, could all be involved in ticket sales for League games. I expect that's out the window now.
A lot of the stuff was of the 'think tank' variety. One study was to develop the AOL into a facility incorporating a small stadium with 3g pitch for reserve games, Uni sports events, gigs, etc. The Americans liked the idea of having Uni events there as they thought it would create some actual supporters and spread the name of SAFC when they went home to their various countries. Uni events would drag in parents and families who'd spend money in the city. Way too radical ideas for a lot of people.
We could be missing a trick with the uni. They could dedicate one or two of those north lower blocks to students. They are hard to shift so see if we can offer them a decent deal.
The thing is I would have hoped that the COO would have come from a hospitality, community background, not an Engineering one. It was a weird appointment because where he has come from (and he spent over 30 years at Atkins) has no bearing on what the club is. He must have got it because he is a fan. Every meeting minute has him saying "we will look into it", even if it was talked about in the last meeting
He's got some external consultants in as well to tell him what the fans want apparently. Seems a bit odd to me.
I don’t like him at all, pay on the gate was stopped because history says there’s not enough walk ups. Get a few cash turnstiles or contactless payment turnstiles set up so we can get these people who decide they want to go to the game at a moments notice. Club shop closed because at 1.32pm on a Wednesday afternoon no one goes. Get the shop open so people can buy merchandise, get something In place so you can buy a shirt in the city centre and elsewhere in the NE. It’s so tin pot and small time.
Whenever I've been in the shop for a top for the bairn we come out with pencils, rubbers, a notepad, keyring and all sorts of little bits and bobs. Ordering online would mean I would just get the top and that's it. They must miss out on a fair bit I reckon.
