Can’t get their head around Sheff Wed being two legs and the representative being at the home leg maybe. There was 49 names on the boardroom list for the home game, an unheard of number. No idea on who or what but I have a feeling the Sundays will be digging very deep for names for a story in the paper.

Agree we need someone better to start but Wright would be fine as back up here next season… There’s a lot of games, he’d play his part.

Going back to the shirt sponsor and the fact that Grumpy Old Man on RTG mentioned the new sponsor "giving folding drinking vouchers" I wonder if that Phantom Brewing Co in Reading is the sponsor, as one of their co owners is a MLF. Hence their promotion pale ale for SAFC.

Isn’t there a ban on alcohol sponsorship on football shirts? Just they all seem to have gone now.

I think "folding drinking vouchers" just means cash, mate, so I wouldn't read too much into it.

Yeah, government passed legislation years, and years ago to prohibit Alcohol sponsorship on sports shirts. Same should be done for gambling, and that "new fad" of Crypto sponsors.

I remember 'Camel' and 'Rothmans' being big sponsors of F1 cars back in the day as well. How times change. I'd also add in the dodgy loan shark firms as well, they should be binned off

Hope so. Bought the bairn the Betdaq strip a few year ago and he was gutted that it didn't look like the proper strip that the players had on.

There was a time when football kits didnt have sponsors on them. They were loads better for it as well for me. We had an amazing and beuatiful set of strips end of 70s.

One of the reason I think international football is still pure is the simplicity of strips. The all white and all blue of England Italy in the final was stunning. Imagine Brazil or Holland with a sponsor - would be bloody horrendous.

I do know we wont ever go back, but I wish we could.
