    Out of interest, once it's all signed, sealed and on a yellow ticker on sky, would this be a big deal in France? or a "so what"? I doubt there will be any news tonight. Its gone half 10 there and probably something that would break on a morning/afternoon. Fingers crossed all the same.

    It's quite big news here especially as they're expecting the family to buy a French club as well. Pre-season friendlies, in France, are being talked about, Marseille being one.

    I'd love that, you can all come and stay!

    Absolutely. Pre season has seemed a bit last minute for a few year. Always seemed to be the fans pressing the club so they can sort flights out.

    Still no official announcement in France but people are openly talking about it and there's also gossip about the family already negotiating the purchase of a French club. I don't know if that would have any benefits for us but a pre-season tour in France would be nice. Marseille supporters, on their forums, seem miffed that the Louis-Dreyfus family aren't taking over there, they are complimentary about Sunderland and the supporters though.

    This is the 'talk in' show that's best for gossip, they have phone ins, etc and are quite complimentary when we're mentioned. Someone called us 'legendary' at the weekend <laugh>

    There's not a chance the EFL are demanding proof of £50 million in cash from prospective owners.

    The Sheikh I worked for is a relative of the Man City fella and fabulously wealthy, he has an island off Abu Dhabi as just one of his many homes ...

    ... he'd ring me up and ask me to pay a restaurant bill because his card had been declined.

    I kept one of the London bills as a little souvenir <laugh>

    (From memory it was around £3000 for 4 people.)
