Just goes to show one club can plummet from what is believed to be a safe position i.e. Norwich were 12th or above, and that the league is just as tight this year as it was last. a few wins on the bounce over the next 2 months will make all the difference....that needs to be us.
Our current figures would put us in 16th on that table. Exactly where we are now. The next few games will be the testers.
Keeping out of that bottom 3, for morale, will work wonders for teams involved in the scrap. Burnley have to sit in 17th now for 2 weeks after blowing a 2-0 lead, there's no telling how soul destroying that could be, they could have been in Palace's position, above Everton, Villa, WBA, Sunderland, that'd have done wonders for their confidence.
so...up until the end of Feb we have these league fixtures. I'm expecting 10 points from 3 home wins, 1 away draw, 1 away loss. Burnley H Swansea A QPR H Baggies H ManUre A The following 6 weeks (up to mid April) I'd want at least another 10 points, if not 12 or 13 - which would see us safe: Hull A Villa H Hammers A Mags H Palace H We really need to turn it on and win these games. Nee excuses allowed anymore.
*United Here's hoping it's gonna be nil point for you then ya Scandi bastard If LVG sets us up 3-5-2 you'll probably beat us anyhow, ****ing sick of seeing us in that formation, he's like a ****ing cow that keeps going back to touch the electric fence,
Curious as to why you've choose to compare now. right in the middle of our good run last season. Sandwiched between the two worst runs of form we'd seen in a long time. We went on to pick just 7 points in the next ten games from this point last season completely cutting ourselves off... again. I'll judge after the next ten games myself.
Ah fair do. Very hard to compare any season to last season. Strange isn't the word. We'd took points from 10 games at this point last season. We've taken points from 14 games this season so Gus has made us harder to beat and little else from what I can see. But last season was a freak season and will stand on it's own for years to come both for good and bad reasons.
nice metaphor. his face certainly looks like he's had a bit of electric shock treatment..... I have us down to lose at your place, though. Just want to start beating all the ****ers around us....for once.
dunno why you've forgotten hull city in that list we look ****ing doomed lads, i'd love sunderland and city to stay up, but you know im hurt after yesterday, i just can't see us staying up.. ****ing sick of it all gives me stress i don't need
It's the table from this time last season mate ........ when we had a million posts telling us Hull were 10th and flying Despite my banter , with your lot, I'd much prefer Hull to be in the PL than the likes of Palace or QPR ..... ratty grounds, nowhere to park and people who all think they're millionaires just because they live in the capital. Hull is only 80 miles from me and we get a decent allocation. Being in the bottom 3 always makes teams nervous and Bruce isn't the best man in a crisis. It won't be long until his excuses become even more extreme and he starts blaming the team, owner, supporters etc etc etc. I remember how he almost blew promotion and his 2nd half collapse last season. A typical Bruce post-Christmas slump and you could be in big trouble before a nasty looking April & May. The more Bruce whines about the injuries the bigger excuse he gives the team for failing. He did the same thing with Sunderland and the players just seemed to give up, it was frightening watching it all unravel tbh. Contrast his demeanour with Dyche or Pulis and I can see why you'd be worried, it's fkn demoralising. But the biggest mistake is not replacing Agnew when he legged it. Now Bruce, and his ego, are all alone and this is when he'll go nuts with the formations, player choice & tactics. You'll know how we felt when it gets to the stage where there are more outfield players out of their normal position than in them
Have to say I quite liked it for us on Saturday - against a lesser side I think it'd have worked well personally. Although it may suit our players better than yours (not talking quality wise just positionally) - it was also good to see Gus change his philosophy on the formation - surprised a few on here. I don;t mind getting nowt from OT - kind of expect it over the years (last year was a freak - and you lot were poor) but the rest of the games coming up, for the most part, are winnable
The key is to make sure you don't lose to them, how many games you lost to teams 3 above you and 3 below you this season? Hull and QPR at a glance, probably the worst two teams on current form in the league. Not great but probably better than last season by comparison. I wouldn't be worried about relegation this season if I was a mackem, there's loads of points to play for yet against teams you should boss. We always expect a tough game off you lot, we barely ever tank you so the loss doesn't and wouldn't surprise me again. Out of all the seasons, if you could pick a time to beat us, I'm sure you'd have picked the time and date when you did beat us last season, it's not often teams leave Old Trafford with a victory twice in a season. I'd agree, 3-5-2 could work better for you guys, although I'd **** the two off and go 3-5-1-1 with Giaccherini behind Defoe and with Rodwell, Cattermole and Larsson in the middle and Jones and PVA wing backs. Gus' style doesn't suit a target man like Wickham, who's basically a dead weight in my opinion. Those players would work that system better than ours, so yeah, I totally agree with ya mate.
