Tough one pal....although Jnrs band would top my list! IDLES stand out as an amazing evening, so full of energy and a band really on the way up, so probably my favourite. Paul Draper performed the whole of Mansuns' Grey Lantern album, one of my favourite abums ever, so that was something special - especially Wide Open Space Wedding Present done the whole of George Best, another classic Gomez also played Bring It On in full Car Seat Headrest have been one of my favourite bands for last couple of years, so that was a top evening too. Damon Albarn and friends was really good last week, especially in such an intimate venue. I missed Van Morrison off the list (probably a few others too) and his was an interesting evening, especially once he moved on from his jazzy stuff yo his older material. Have a handful of gigs lined up for next year - Massive Attack, Foos, The Cure, Blinders, Mogwai and a festival.
In tribute to Peter Murphy and David J, half of Bauhaus, who played a knockout gig at Brixton last night.
Brexit - I think The Specials had it sussed in this 1980 classic, with the hitline "It's all a load of bollocks"......
