Haven't read one single paper this morning and only tuned into SSN for about 15 mins. I'm taking a day off from quoting the speculation after Fridays emotional roller coaster Lol. I still have a niggling feeling that there is something in the N'Zogbia and Defoe stories personally but if they are really dead in the water, then so be it. I think we can all agree that we have done very well this window but I think we are all also in full agreement that a striker is still required to replace Judas. Are we linked with anyone decent this morning in the myriad of Sunday tabloids? Don't quote the NotW mind, as they could say anything this weekend as they wont be there to answer it next one. Lol
One thing is certain in my mind, the players we have brought in are better than the players that left. Thats all I need to know really.
Just seen it on another thread, although it did mention Muntari and Mensah as well...Thought i was in a time-warp.
Well the Coppa America is still on, so there could be a knock on effect after that finishes. Club A buys someone from there, has a striker they dont want, Club B buys that striker, in turn, have a striker they dont want, we get that striker, but until club A makes a move in the first place, we dont know who its going to be.
Perhaps there will be some more decent rumours in the News of the World next week....................................oh no, perhaps not!!
I think it will be Welbeck in August, a player that does not need a pre season as much as others because hecwas with us last year. Real will buy Tevez, which means Man u will buy Benzima, meaning Welbeck is surplus. We will sign a left sided player, who?? F who's !!!!
That picture brings back some memories. Those tents were pale green and you had to fill the pockets with sand around the bottom to stop them blowing away in the North East wind lol. If it rained it was amazing how many people you could get in one of those tents. Aye the number 18 bus from Thompson Road to Seaburn Camp ..... for 2d. Bag of chips with salt and vinegar for 3d They were the days!!!!!!!!!!
I understood the no18 bus bit...and the chips...but no idea of the prices... How would that work out in today's prices?
Less than 1p for the bus and just less than 11/2p for the chips. The photo would be in the 1950s by the way. I'm an old arse as well!!!
"So why if it was so busy, did they let it slide so much?" Because people found out about Spain commachio, same beaches but more sunshine in Spain. Besides, Sunderland City council still operate in the 1950s, nobody has told them about the sixty odd intervening years, they still think it's 1955 and they are too thick to find out it's not!!!
