Thought I would take a butchers at The Sun in Sunday, haven't read it before but obviously expect it to be just like the weekday Sun.

Good spread on the game yesterday but a little confused with the player ratings. How are Kenny and the back four be marked as 6/10?! They were all outstanding. Only Zamora and Taarabt were marked above 6. If anything, Zamora was the only player worth a 6 as he didn't hit the target and had a couple of opportunities to score.

Lazy journalism methinks (or a secret Spurs fan?!), either way not too bothered, just an observation that looks like it is marked from a journalist who didn't watch the game and made the report from second-hand information.

On a lighter note, was holding my newborn son during the second half but had to pass him over to the wife cos I didn't want to accidentally launch him come the final whistle!!!

    COYR'sss!!

Everyone deserved at least a 7 yesterday, they should take into account the level of the respective teams.

Congratulations Newbury! You need to ask Flanman where to get one of the blue and white romper suits!

got to say the back 4 were immense but paddy was not. Parrying/punching everything and never collecting crosses. Sorry but feel he has had a bad season, and i reckon his last whether upordown.

    Congratulations Newbury.
Paddy had his best game for ages yesterday, and the communication with the defense was superb.
Sunday Times ratings were all 7 and 8, except Zamora who got a six, unfairly in my view. Col will be posting soon at 9s and 8s. These scales are totally subjective/ individual. My benchmark for a 10 is Maradona in the 86 WC Final ( attacking) and Baresi in the 94 WC Final ( defensive). So nobody would ever get a 10 from me.

team 7 out of ten for me ... mom don't matter to me at all. we all see games differently as the result effects most on here before anything else. One thing we stopped them from playing as they have been ... that was outstanding. as confidence grows we will expect to win these games soon

    Congrats Newbaby!

Word of advice, don't hold the baby at all until the season is over. Safer that way...

i am serious beth, Kenny puts the back four under so much pressure with his poor distibution and inability to come for crosses. He is an ok shot stopper but was still parrying when he should have ben catching on some. We will have a new keeper next year whether we are up or down. Can't remember any world class saves btw .

Tip over from Bale's free header?

Agreed that actually holding onto more more shots would help though

His distribution is almost as poor as Big Ned's - Ned seems to just hoof the ball up field too often when a little more direction would be helpful

OTT but he certainly had a really good game. Rangerw9 may have a point regarding the whole season but yesterday you couldn't fault the bloke.

In a relegation dog-fight its the only thing that counts. Only a blockhead would think otherwise.

Completely agree. Made a very good save from Bale's header but some of his other saves were laughable, one near the end was going wide, and his parrying leaves a lot to be desired. In my opinion, he's far from a premiership keeper.

Kenny had one of his best games this season yesterday. The tip over the top from bale's header, saving dos santos shot and the follow up from point blank. He also showed much more understanding with the back 4 than usual, coming out to collect the ball instead of having them needlessly hoof it away when nobody was close by. Distribution has always been poor but you cant have it all
