    <laugh> Pity Karl isn't here.

What a beautiful day for basking in the sun waiting for Wycombe to score a goal.

Cyc the great club is thus named because in the old, old, old days when the club was founded (as a Cricket club incidentally) they used to meet every Wednesday. Their nickname "The Owls" derives from the part of Sheffield where they play their football - "Owlerton"

Nass is just jealous cos Chesterfield's crooked spire is more famous than its football team.

Thanks Oddy. Nothin' like a bit of football rivalry.

you obviously don't listen to Mr AE on 606 with Robbie Savage. You are one of the top ten biggest clubs in the UK, and have a god given right to be playing Manchester United.

I was gutted last night, couldn't get time to listen to Radio Sheffield praise or grumble, with the two shef teams in L1 it is hilarious.

Oddy are you a Yorkshireman then?

Nass - yep, born in Stockbridge, Sheffield. Once home to the Samuel Fox Steelworks which is today sadly a shadow of its former self. I have also been an Owls fan since I was a lad and was lucky enough to be watching them in the 80s and early 90s - arguably our best team ever - and I hate twats like Karl who think we should be in the premiership just because "we are a big team" and all that crap. We are finding out the hard way that you have to earn your place in the top flight and I have huge respect for teams like Watford and Wimbledon who came from obscurity to the Premier League (or the old first division).

As we are talking footy here ..... the funniest thing for me is their manager.

When the Wendys appointed our ex-manager, lots of our fans went on to their boards to sympathise with them, and warn of what the future was likely to be.

Lots of their fans pointed us at the exit and called us bitter. (we weren't bitter, but relieved when he got the sack from Bolton!) So the 5-1 thrashing by a club that was non-league just 2 years ago WAS quite amusing :)

Reebok I think Megson is an absolute twat and was gutted when we appointed him. It did cause a bit of bad blood on the banter boards (which I'm not on btw - the only forum I go on is this one, too many dickheads on the footy forums, but I do read them sometimes). Sooner he goes the better IMHO cos we ain't going anywhere under his management.

Ron how do you embed a picture in a message, rather than attaching it? Been trying to work that out for ages. When I click on "insert image" it asks for a URL, but what if the image is on my PC??
