Sure, but Raphinha's wages will be around £150k - Gruda will be on a low amount in Germany so £40k would be a step up. That's a diff of about £5m a year, so assuming the fee is the same, one's actually costing £10m and the other £15m when 5 year amoritisation kicks in.
Interesting thing about Paul Mitchell is that he has been unattached for a period of time; I think he'll be in meetings this week discussing a variety of well-researched talent that are miles away from the public/media gaze. Gruda is interesting, though, as it's popped up at around the same time as Mitchell's appointment and given his links to Germany (Red Bull) might be something in it. I think Thiaw will definitely arrive.
Funny how he turned down Man U before they poached Ashworth, but has come to us shortly afterwards. Would genuinely like to know what his thinking was.
Trips out, Thiaw in would be magnificent! Trips has been so poor for so long, and Thiaw is like Kelly, versatile playing RB or RCB, plus Livramento at his age should be our starter.
Man Utd weren't offering him a full director of football role, but rather something along the lines of head of recruitment (working under Ashworth). We were probably the more attractive option because we were offering the full director position.
NUFC one of 6 clubs the EPL are scrutinising over transfer dealings on the PSR deadline day. Of course we are.
Honestly can't see how the hell the PL could stop or do anything about all the transfers that took place between the clubs. They allowed Chelsea's hotel sales, Palace's made up sponsor and all sorts. They are looking completely ****ing stupid and getting worse by the day. Got to feel Masters can't have long left. Amount of money they must spend on legal fee's must be ridiculous now. The Leicester 10 point deduction is nuts. You can't deduct a club more points for an FFP breach more than a club that goes into administration
According to that Maguire football finance guy, the deals didn't break any pre-existing rules. I expect the rules will shortly be changed to cover this for future windows.
They've lost control. It's what happens next. ESL? New PL? More stupid rules will just see a revolt. Villa, Newcastle and City are already ready to go.
Is there actually any decent rumours then. Seems our frustration on here at the lack of decent activity is creating anger and rifts…….
I didn’t say transfers. I said rumours. And I think this guy is a brilliant appointment and I reckon he’s been working behind the scenes already.
