The he's a Chelsea fan mental gymnastic ! Was every other player that has and will pick them ahead of us a Chelsea fan <laugh>

Only hope for us is that Chelsea don't bother for their own reasons whoever it is.

Tell me again why Shearer rejected Manchester United in favour of Newcastle United?

Mate I’d be happy if this move got us Madueke. We liked him before he left PSV but Chelsea were burning cash. Ashworth would’ve known him as well. Don’t get me wrong I’d be plenty pissed if we miss out on both and start with Miggy or Murphy in August but at the moment I’m excited by the thought of signing Madueke.

Olise was at Chelsea for 8 years. Got binned of course but they’ll be paying more wages and making a boatload of American promises.

I never thought for one second we would get him unless Chelsea and the other big clubs opt out.. I'm pointing that our regardless of the additional emotional preference he has.

One positive however is that we clearly have £60m to spend.

The big money offer for a right winger fills me with enough confidence that whoever we get will be a vast improvement. There’s a load of targets we can go for in that area that will be a huge upgrade. Chiesa, Olise, Williams, leao, Madueke, Bowen, raphina, Torres and more

I was watching the we are Newcastle documentary the other night again and the drop off in Longstaff is massively alarming. Easy to forget it was his 2 goals that sent us to Wembley

Plus confidence that the club sees a key issue. For all I think Kelly is middling, we are stocked there and I’d like Hall to keep getting games. The fact we’ve done that deal to keep big money free for a RW is great news. We’ve spent £60m on one player each of the last Summers so looks like that will continue.

Tenuous link to Mathijs De Ligt but doubt we’ll spend £50m+ on a CB.

I read they’re looking to offload both him and upemaccano if they can….. which s weird because a few years ago they were my entire back pairing in footy manager. <laugh>

He just had a purple patch much like Miggy. Form is temporary, class is permanent and neither Longstaff, Burn, Murphy or Miggy have enough class to keep going. But Kelly > Burn, Tonali > Longstaff and we’ll sign better than our RWs and bettter than Schar/Lascelles. If we do that well I’m convinced we can have a title tilt.

He's a Manu fan as I remember he refused to celebrate when he scored a last minute freekick against them...

He turned Chelsea down last year too after Todd Boehly had already agreed a fee, Olise decided against the move though and instead signed an improved contract with Palace. He seems like a smart kid.

Olise will be wasted at Chelsea, but I assume that's what he'll go for as he's been London based all his life and they'll pay him something huge.

But we managed to get Bruno and Trippier when we were second bottom and looked like relegation certainties, so who knows.

You didn't think they'd come 6th either mate, but they've turned a corner...suppose the manager could **** it up but with the players they have it will be fine more than likely.

It was a really ****ing dumb thing to do to sack the manager when they've just got momentum. Owner might have wanted more than 6th but they were on fire at the end of the season. Massive spanner in the works.
