Apparently there was a complaint raised, I wonder who the bitter redbird was that wanted us to go below his team in any way.

Was your post of the back of this one:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-25733929

It's just a rehash of the same story again, but this time outlining in much more detail the Parc d'Scarlets thing.

I can't help thinking this story keeps resurfacing by the Cardiff based media pushing it. There has been no comment from either Swansea council or us for over two years on the subject, so quite why the story keeps getting republished I'm unsure.

I can't speak for people living and paying tax in Swansea as I don't anymore, but I don't think I'd have much of a complaint about this now. Yes the stadium itself isn't generating a profit, but the investment made by the council has seen Premier League football arrive in the city along with all the benefits worldwide coverage and awareness brings to businesses in the area.

I'd like to see some stats on City-wide economic growth since our promotion and then we'd be able to make a better decision whether the council is missing out on potential revenue....

David Hughes, head of the European Commission's office in Wales, said: "There is no formal investigation into state aid subsidies into any UK sporting club. "There are formal investigations going on in Spain into clubs like Real Madrid and in the Netherlands as well but there are no formal investigations going on in the UK. "What we have in the UK is we have a few cases that have come to light in the media where allegations have been made against certain operators and the commission is legally obliged to look into the matter to ask a few questions in order to see whether there's any substance to these allegations."

The issue of state aid funding in sport has risen to prominence recently. Five Dutch football clubs are being formally investigated and last month the commission announced that it is formally investigating seven Spanish clubs including Real Madrid and Barcelona. It is expected that these Spanish cases will go all the way to the European Court of Justice.

A Swansea council spokesman said: "The European Commission has asked us a number of questions in relation to the Liberty Stadium and currently we are in dialogue with them, as are a large number of sports clubs from across Europe."

Looks a damp squid to me, some sad Kairdiff supporter trying to be clever, the only teams I see who are in trouble, are the Spanish clubs, especially the gang of two!................<cheers>
