Martin makes a good point on OS that we could almost change the whole team and still be too strong for most sides. We have a reall really strong squad now. Onwards and upwards together as one!
Only partially agree. We have enough depth to replace any player, but if forced to change too many at one time, as in the Cups, we aren't the same. That's why Nigel doesn't make as many changes as people think. At the beginning of the season, before injuries hit in, Saints played fewer players than any other team. I think Nigel knows his ideal team and changes are few and only for very good reasons. Guly will be straight back in when he recovers, as will Jos.
I agree with Lamballana, if you have this as the first team, and all of them were injured so you put out the 'reserve team' we would still probably win. Davis Richardson - Fonte - Hoover - Fox Lallana - Cork - Spider - Puncheon Lambert - Sharp Bart Butters - Martin - Jaidi - Harding De Ridder - Hammond - Chaplow - Guly Connoly - Lee Both of these teams would probably win even though the second team is clearly the reserve one, and players like Seaborne, Holmes, Reeves and Barnard are still not being used!
Think second team would give you a game, but I would be horrified if they were put out in an important match.
Hmmm, I'm not convinced. For certain, we've got some real decent options now following a succesful January off the field, but even so, I'd suggest that our second XI would struggle to get a top half finish. Leeds are in are 10th, Leicester are in 13th, Ipswich are in 16th - and yet I wouldn't back our second XI to beat any of them. It would survive in this division, and that's a good foundation to have, but it would be some way off challenging for promotion.
