I think I am right in saying that Sinclair has been given MOTM by the sponsors in all 4 home games so far this season, while last season only injury prevented him from getting the award even more than he did. I am not denying that Sinclair is a good player for us, always puts himself about and gives everything and a little bit more, but his stranglehold on the sponsors' MOTM award has, to me, become so farcical that I've got half a mind to start a petition calling for him not to be awarded it again. Again, I am not denying that his contribution to the team is a valuable one, but being MOTM is about more than just having a bushy beard and running around a lot. What does everyone else think? Am I being harsh? Making a mountain out of a molehill?
I would have awarded it to Chris Lines. I thought he controlled the game for most of it and had an outstanding game.
I too would have picked Lines vs Oxford. Vs Northampton, no one deserved it. But I do think he was the best from the rotten bunch who played that day. So if it had to be awarded then I would give it to him. I missed Brum game so cant say if he deserved it or not but after it was announced he won it, the commentators said he played well but others deserved it more, like Leadbitter. Barnet game he played well but wouldn't say best on the pitch.
I thought that Tom Lockyer and James Clarke were both outstanding against oxford with Parkes not far behind, it seems to me that sometimes the work of the defenders is overlooked when MOM awards are given out unless the keeper has kept the team in the match when he might just get the award
He's a Gas legend already so IMO he should get MOM even when he's not playing besides the strikers aren't going to win it anytime soon they're more likely to score goals then get MOM
I thought Sinclair played pretty well against Oxford. He is bound to stand out because of his role. His stamina and exuberance coupled with covering far more than the average running distance during the game catch the eye. Against Oxford he passed the ball accurately and didn't make too many mistakes. My only criticism would be that he doesn't always release the early pass which would put more pressure on the defenders. Having said that I would sooner he is in our side than someone else's..
