On the transfer front at the moment. The Stoke game is out of the way and we need to improve our chances of getting out of League 2.
I'm sure we've been here before. Many times. If past signings are to go by (summer signings and the couple of loan signings this summer were all good) then the silence isn't a bad thing. But it is very FRUSTRATING I'll agree. Personally though I'd rather we go about business in a dignified way rather than like, say, Swindon do.
Hessy usually delivers well on transfers considering the budget limitations but he will not be rushed and he knows prices fall for those who wait.
kedwell out with broken ribs...confirmed today O/S. which looks about 6 weeks out at least...not a goodtime at all...started to impress!!! so now we need 2-3 new players to push on for rest of season. norwich have released oli johnson today, so he's worth ago, along with jo kuffour, gavin tomlin and jermaine mcglashan. see spiller, king & birchall were warming up on saturday, though will be sometime off a return just yet!
On Saturday a friend of mine pointed out a player warming up in the old kit from last season with a number 4 on the shorts. Neither of us recognised him. Does anyone know who this was? Looked a bit like a thinner version of Rene Howe if that helps.
Knowing that Gills like to go to the bargain basement - Alex Waugh at Margate ( 23 year old forward ) has been scoring loads of goals this season. I have heard a rumour that we've had a look at him ( not surprising .) If we might only have real money to afford one striker, then somebody like Waugh could be a 2nd cheapish striker ( we surely need two whilst Kedwell is out - or we can forget any route to possible promotion )

Its my unerstanding he can play out wide and is quick which is something we lack, Kuffour is a must or someone similar if we want promotion and quick! UTG!!
all sounds very promising...lets hope we can get most deals done early! hope we can put a deal togeather for jermaine mcglashan as well?. maybe also one of either.....the lad that we were meant to have on trial (i forget his name) guy who got an injury when due a trial for us???, or kwasi appiah from margate fc would be good! lets get a few of our younger players go out on loan dack, miller etc. along with oli, king, rance, brunt, davies, A brown and s payne if we were to get those other players in to the gills! other clubs are doing alot of business in our league, and we need to close that gap quickly!!! UTG!!!!!
