Some very significant seven Matches to get out of the way, Assuming that we won´t win all we have left Are the following, I would say Starting with this coming weekend Some notable ones we can find, Ipswich v Bournemouth and Derby - Watford Are two where the field could be mined In fact, any results at all In those two will do us no harm, As long as we win against one Hughton C Who probably won´t chance his arm And either the gap to the top Will shorten in some shape or form, Or else the one to the others underneath Will widen, which also would warm Then ´Boro who were spared that week Begin a tricky four game run, A visit to Watford the first on the list Then quite quickly, Wolverhampton And at the same time as that game Forest take on Watford at home, And if they still have a chance for the top six Then there could be any outcome Derby too, have one more hurdle Against those vying for the top, Brentford at home may not seem such a one But we know that they´re hard to stop The last of these six-pointer games Where others will hope to gain ground Is our game at home with just three then to go, Where we hope ´Boro can be downed After that it´s a free-for-all Two matches and six points to win, And if it´s as close as it´s been for so long The winning margin will be thin. Rhyming run with Wolverhampton - very neat RBF. I have been waiting for your latest verse and as ever, the reward was worth the wait. Very interesting times ahead and as another poster mentioned recently Hughton C and his team take a significant roll in the coming weeks as they play quite a few of the play-off contenders and of course they are far from out of the woods themselves. For our game and having seen the way he operates, I suspect that his mindset will be as you say to possibly not to chance his arm but have sights on a point. That means that to win, AN will need to take the initiative and that may lead to opening up a little more for a Brighton counter-attack. A potentially fascinating game and an intriguing Easter weekend to come. Today I feel pretty bored and cannot become enthused about international weekends anymore, I really hate Canary free weekends.
Excellent as usual RBF and I MIGHT have to find a local hostelry which will be showing the 2 evening kick-offs on Good Friday!!! If the Canaries can down the Seagulls in the afternoon, then whatever the results in the 2 evening games, then it will indeed be a GOOD Friday for the boys in Yellow and Green!!!! I'd settle for a repeat of the score on Easter Monday of 4 years ago, but not sure if my 'dicky ticker' could stand the stress!!!! Excellent post Thurnby!!!
I remember it well and goodness knows how my bike found its way home with me on board that evening. All the pubs showing the Portsmouth game went abso;utely mental at the end of the matchh!!!!
Afternoon gents, firstly, like you THURNBY, I can summon up absolutely no enthusiasm whatever for international games, and find these breaks really tedious, as well as potentially damaging, if any of our lads happen to pick up injuries, but fortunately no news of any yet. Would also say, that as well as games against other promotion candidates, of which we have been kindly treated, we´ve all got potentially treacherous games against those towards the bottom, which might actually have as much say in the outcome as the others. Can´t wait for the finale
Personally I think it had everything to do with Dave Jones he totally lost it in the press comments before the game, boasting how they were going to walk it, and how all the pressure was on Norwich, whereas Lambert, in his terse way, barely said a word
You could well be right on that score RBF. Let's face it, PL was probably the worst interviewee ever and rarely added anything of value. "I thought we were excellent" was about it really. AN is quite refreshing in a way because he does add something without ever trying to become the star of the show a la Mr. Holloway for example who tried to be too clever by half and has now coem a mighty cropper - again!
