Looking forward to the Wigan game and seeing Bobby back in the Liberty (hopefully send him home pointless though) For me I would like to see.... --------- Vorm (outstanding debut) Rangel---Caulker--Williams(c)---Taylor ------ Allen----Agustien--------- ----------Routledge--------- --Dyer----Graham------Sinclair---- all starting. I 'm a big fan of Dobbie but he didn't link up as much as I would have liked in the Man City game, however BR may show his faith in the guy again (and if he does, who am I to argue!). Leon ran his socks off but I feel Joe may give something different and is a little more direct at times. Tatey deserved the honour of leading the Swans out into the Prem, but Taylor allows Sinclair more space/freedom with his own forays. I fancy/wish Swansea 2-0 STID
Agree with line up apart from think dobbie will be given another chance and Britton or Allen. I'm hoping for a result problem with playing in premiership got to play against premiership teams each week. Really are no way games for teams outside top 4 or 5
Why on earth wouldn't Dobbie start? True, he looked a little over awed on Monday but he wasn't alone. In the more serious pre-season friendlies everything good came through him. Not sure he should routinely start away from home though where our tactics should be different. He was also a frequent scorer of goals for us last season whereas Routledge has a very poor record in that department - zero goals out of 100 appearances. Dobbie has to start - it's not the time to be tinkering after just one game.
Yes, Dobbie must start all home games as he will see far more of the ball at home and he has the key to unlock defences.
Agreed , Dobbie to start for most if not all home games. Away games to start on the bench against top 6 sides at least.
i think thats a bit harsh musty he made a few good runs but passes were either cut out or too strong and cant be easy first prem game against man city aswell.
Danny Graham is a striker who will score goals....... IF he gets the service. To date that service has been pretty limited and it is an issue that Buck has to address. Watford tended to play a bit like Blackpool in that when they attacked they poured bodies forward which was a huge help to him. It is probably unfair to judge him - and the team - against Man City because we were on the back foot for so long. Our midfield spent a lot of time chasing and defending thus couldn't support properly or consistently when we attacked. If the same problem persists against Wigan and then again against Sunderland, I am going to worry. We don't want a Pintado situation developing where the guy ploughed a lone furrow for so long he became demoralised and virtually forgot how to score. No striker in the world can flourish without decent service and SUPPORT from the wide players and midfield. Graham is a good striker but he has to be given the ammunition to do his job. We saw his quality with his goal against Betis which resulted from good set up play. Against Man City he wasn't provided with an opportunity worthy of the name. Knocking the ball about in the first two thirds is all very well but we aren't going to score too many until we start getting better and quicker ball into our strikers.
I'm going with: Vorm Rangel - Caulker - Williams - Taylor Allen - Agustien Dyer - Dobbie - Sinclair Graham Allen because he looked so much sharper when he came on. Whatever happens he is one of our players for the future and I think we should persevere with him starting every game to give him a chance to grow into this level. Give Allen a string of 3 games or so and then watch him. Dobbie gets the nod for the Wigan game, but as I suggested when Routledge was being signed, he's the alternative for the "Dobbie Role" and not so much as cover for the Dyer and Sinclair. It's Dobbie's role to lose and Routledge's to win. I am sure it will be sorted by the end of the month. Shame we didn't get Ayala - we desparately need depth at the back. I was surprised that Jazz did not make the bench on Monday as defensiver cover. If we'd have lost a defender through injury on Monday, we'd have had to drop Agustien back and put on a midfield player.
Hi Guys. To be honest we all knew it was going to be a tough game for us, so are the other two away we also said we could get 6pts from the 1st 3games, so starting on sat vrs Wigan our 1st home win with a bit of luck then Sunderland the week after, also beat the shrews in the cup. We will be right by xmas have faith lads in BR
I think the only difference we'll see is Taylor in for Tate. Dobbie didn't have a good day on Monday, but the Swansea side we saw play Man City should rip Wigan apart for large parts of the game.
Same 11 for me but taylor in for tate. No need to make too many changes after one game. lets see how we do against a team closer to our level. I really do think big ash has to take over as skipper though! can't see monk or tate getting many starts this season, caulker looked pretty steady.
Man City with Aguero are going to be a serious challenge for just about every other game in the league
Swimaway your line up is good, just one change though, Dobbie in for Routledge!............. please log in to view this image
Exact same team other than Taylor returns from suspension ahead of Tate. No reason to change anything else as nobody did badly in particular against City. Routledge needs some time to settle in if we are going to use him in the middle, he's looked OK in pre-season and again on Monday but hasn't done anything outstanding that says "play me now!". He will get his chances as the season progresses as will Joe Allen. I would consider playing Britton, Augustien AND Allen for our next away match though, have Sinclair and Dyer support Graham instead (perhaps not at the same time).
