I have a right downer on our short to mid term prospects. I think 2016 will be more of the same for NUFC and honestly can't see the bigwigs supporting the infrastructure with what is needed to progress the club.
It isn't about getting into Europe or high placing in the EPL, it's about putting a team out on the park that fans can be proud to support.
We are under resourced and will continue to be until Ashley pisses off.
We shouldn't be fighting relegation year in year out like the Mackems but at this rate nothing will change in 2016.

Football-wise I am not remotely optimistic going into 2016!!

the bigwigs have got a major decision to make this transfer window

do nowt, and have much of the same relegation battle as last year
running the risk of supporter anger, losing season tickets money for next season, big TV money if we go down
supporters will not be conned like last year
having to re-new their season tickets before we knew if anyone was coming in, which no-one did

or investing in a team with backup so,
when the inevitable happens like when suspensions or injuries take their toll
we have someone who could fit in to that place without having to switch players from left to right and back again
unfortunately with Cisse being injured, we have the back up of a 19 year old kid who has just been re-called from Barnsley, Ivan Toney.

sorry but this does not say strength in depth for me <grr>

I'm just surprised that so many people were taken in by Ashleys pissed up Sky ramblings. Perhaps it was a case of 'wanting' to believe rather than actually genuinely thinking that anything will fundamentally change. He will do the bare minimum to scrape us through again and he will take a gamble that what we already have will be enough. And if we go down he will be upset for a nano second and then he will simply shrug his shoulders.......................... because in the Ashley empire, NUFC really is small potatoes. We all like to think it is central to everything that he does and therefore really important to him and that he craves success. The simple fact of the matter is that the bloke doesn't give a ****. Not about the club, the history, the fans, the city............... nothing.

Spurs are Ashleys team and if he wanted to be truly involved in football at an emotional level he would have gone and bought them. To Ashley NUFC are just the cheap slag at the end of the night that will let you finger her behind the kebab van. He has basically picked us up, shagged us, wiped his cock on our curtains and now he's sat in the pub laughing and telling all of his mates about what a game **** we are. And you know what................... we will probably let him **** us next week too because all of our dignity has been taken and we don't know any better now.

To be fair it didn't look like Spurs were his team when we scored the winner against them the other week. And besides, weren't Chelsea meant to be his team according to some 'insider' a few years ago? I'm sure he'd like us to be successful, it's just whether he'd like it enough to actually spend what is required and, to be honest, I just don't think he understands football, and he keeps employing incompetent people.

He'll not leave for a long time. He gets around £80m a year from tv, and advertises his vile company for nowt that would cost him a fortune in the real world. We're stuck with him unfortunately.

We've been crying out for a left back and a commanding centre half for years. Sort this out and we should be mid table. They've got no ambition for anything higher, I'm afraid.

    This.

Why would someone who appears to love money sell?
