He plays Alexander Dolgopolov of Ukraine today. I have to admit - know nothing about him.

Hopefully Murray will hit the ground running but he would have preferred at least a couple of sets under his belt before the 3rd round.

Heather Watson makes it through to the final of the Japanese Open! Could there be Brits in both finals?

Murray takes the first set against Federer 6-4.

Andy wins 6-4 6-4 against Le Fed. Should have won second set more comfortably, especially wasting 7 break point in the first game of second set. Some of andy's returning today was simply outstanding, almost embarrassing Fed on serve with his shots at times. Will be a fun final against Novak tomorrow. Hopefully Andy will 3 pete and claim his first Masters tournament of the year.

The momentum seems to have changed this year and Murray is the player to beat - it is no longer Federer who I feel is past his best now.

    Well done Andy Murray.

I have to say Federer looked off colour at times today, but then at times he wass unplayable. Some of his forehands were impeccable. But the three dbl faults in a row were the worst I have seen him. Ever!

Hope AM isn't going to throw this one away after serving for the match and then losing the game <doh>

To paraphrase Gianfranco Zola, watching Andy Murray is hard on the heart. This is so hard to watch.

Dammit! Can't believe he blew it.

Oh well, it's been a good year for him and we do have a British winner today so mustn't grumble.

Dissapointing because Andy could have won the match earlier in the game. These two could be the modern day Borg & Mcenroe often seen in big finals battling it out <laugh>

Murray lost the match effectively when 30-0 up when serving at 5-4 up in the second. Why he did not come into the net for an easy volley putaway when Novak did his Hotdog I do not know. djokovic was only interested in getting the ball back, not even looking where it was going to end up, and where's Murray, stuck on the baseline like a fart in a trance.
