So as we are about half way through the season I was wondering what ppl´s thoughts are about the way it´s gone so far.

    4th place - P19 W10 D3 L6 F31 A17 PTS33 are our stats so far & we are 4 pts off 2nd & 5 pts off the top, I think we´ve managed 5 clean sheets with Nuggent our top scorer with 9.

With the Jan window coming up can anyone see NP bringing any more players in & if so which position ? I think we need some more fire power.
6L´s is alot after 19 games (imo) but it´s that type of lge where, as said before, lots of teams can beat each other. Take yesterday for i.e. but having said that we are only 5 off top. I´m ****** off about the Leeeeeds res but lets have the Sheep (so to speak) on Saturday.

Only sort of complaint from me is when it isnt our day we really need to draw more instead of getting beat. I think we have looked best this season when Sean St. Ledger has been playing

I think the owners should dig deep and give Nigel some serious cash to buy a striker.

Currently we dn not have the fire power to get us in the Prem.

Although I quite like Waggy, he isn't the answer. We are in a great position, so let's take this chance to get out of this division.

Agreed. Although alot will depend on if we can shift Danns and Beckford in Jan. we just need someone to partner Nugent. Waggy will be a great impact player as will Futacs if he stays. I dont think Vardy is up to the championship

Well we are in the top 6 which means we have done better than I thought we would, my main grumble though is the lack of fire power we have up front. Still I'd have snatched your hand off if you'd have offered me 4th at this stage of the season had you have asked me in August! <ok>

<ok> Futacs should really be starting with Vardy or Waggy, as he brings a different threat, at least until Nugent is back.

RE: this season, we are being alot more consistent, we've had nowhere near as many bad performances as we did this time last year, and thats down to 2 main areas:

Defence: Kasper has been great again this season, but with the additions of Big Wes (now settled in as cpt) St Ledger (getting regular games) De Laet and Konchesky (on good form) we have really got the back 4 working well, along with Whitbread who has not been too bad. I think Pearsons heart couldn't take another of those death runs from Sol Bamba and (rightly imo) got rid.

Midfield: Was a problem last year with people off form (King) and people being played in the wrong position (most of them played the wrong role under Sven last season) but this year we are back to playing some great football through the middle, which is creating plenty of chances for the forwards ... this is where the problems for us start ... but every team is going to need a 20+ striker a season in order to get automatic promotion, so they are rare and in most cases very overpriced

Pearson, being a defensive player first, has really got that aspect of the game spot on, he has surprised me with the creativity this year from his signings, but just need the last piece of the puzzle to put the ball in the back of the net.

I don't really like using football stats as they can be misleading e.g 'possession' stringing together loads of passes across your back four can give you an impressive possession stat whilst masking the fact that overall you were ****e ... but the number of chances to conversion in each game demonstrates where our 'achilles heel' is ... Ipswich apart we don't convert nearly enough chances into goals ... we need a real goal scorer - if we had that we'd be waltzing games because our defence is pretty damn mean

Am happy with where we are at the moment, would definitely of taken this position at the start of the season. If we can win our next two games we could be in
the automatic places or at least just outside. Would love to see the addition of a centre forward in Jan, think barring injuries that could be the difference between
    going up and not

35 quid, that's more than a good enough excuse not to go to Leeds on a cold tuesday night.

yeah I know mate not saying it isn't but how someone can argue about empty sees and then admit he didn't go is beyond me.

    try paying that every game

Actually do feel for you YWBK - my duaghter is at Leeds Uni and I did contemplate travelling up and staying over with her and the 4 other 19/20 year old girls she shares a house with just off Hyde Park ........... but enough of that ..... but I work on the Herts / Beds border so the journey, weather and the principle of then having to pay that much (£34) for a Championship game just made me angry ... and therefore unwilling.

Greed is killing footie and emptying grounds - the more enlightened clubs are, hopefully, beginning to see the light and are offering either v.good season ticket concessions (Bradford) or are otherwise trying to fill the gaps by 'kid for a quid' or other initiatives..

I WOULD HAVE COME UP JUST FOR THAT :)

Imagine ur daughter ringing you up n telling you shes got a new boyfriend who she met out in Leeds and its me ;)

I hope the prices make you realise why Leeds have lost 13000 average since 2009

Took her back up there at the beginning of the month - the landlord had just fixed the shower that morning and 3 of them were wandering around wrapped in towels when we got there... it was hell!

Our gate against the sheep worriers will be telling on Saturday - throughout my formative years that would normally have been a sell-out ..

Gutted about the sheep game. Gotta go Newark for work. If they had brought it forward to the early televised match, could have gone to game then on to Newark after. Oh well, press record and hope some twat doesnt keep telling me the score. Watch it when I get home. Another match missed off me season ticket!

Exactly, I'd only just managed to bring myself to pay that much to go to a Ground where there's hardly any fans. "Where's your famous atmosphere" Was a funny chant, and the Faye Flare when he scored.

Everytime I watch the FLS, there seems to be more and more empty seats, especially behind the goal near the away fans.

Yeah, but they're your biggest rival. Imagine a club that doesn;t have any connection with Leeds being charged 35 quid a seat.

They should pay away fans £35 to go to Hull.
