Was chatting to @Spurlock on the monolith thread sometime this week and obviously it was late (like now) and we'd both smoked some bud.. (also like now in my case)
please log in to view this image

So naturally we got into a convo about 1st aliens and what level of technology they could have then what advanced technologies we have now, yaknow the stuff they don't tell you about kinda stuff.

I was half joking about military things like exo skeletons, augmented or genetically enhanced troops like treadstone/Jason Bourne, hunter killer drones, automatated tanks, choppers, ships, assassin cyborgs... **** like that.

Then I remembered a video I saw ages ago (but couldn't find it at the time) where you see an invisible or cloaked soldier runing to get in a tank but you don't properly see him (you see what I'd describe as a transparent silhouette of him until he actually gets on the tank... Then he well... Appears or reveals himself.

So take a look.. (start at 2:40)

I know, its **** quality and you just can't be sure if it's some videoshop job or not imo, but its interesting and got me looking for more.

Then I found these... The last one is summin else. Especially #1.

So anyone know of any other stuff like that, not military type stuff specifically just anything advanced or groundbreaking in science or tech?

I don't even care if its not been invented or discovered or created yet. Let your creative juices flow in here guise.

For example, here's a totally non important but at the same time important one... it's bugged me for as long as I can remember that companies who make tvs don't put a small button on the TV somewhere, a "find my remote" button that makes your TV remote bleep or spud off like an alarm and maybe even gets louder every time until you find it and press a button on the remote to stop it.

So yeh whatever goes but yaknow try to ignore Roy.

    @brb @Tobes

Is it possible to break into the poll and replace

    Poundland Stan

    With

    The Grave Dodger?

Ive spoken with my people and we've decided that Stan is not relevant anymore and the Poundland version is not popular or important enough for this kind of free marketing.

If that's possible... Many thanks if you would :emoticon-0148-yes:

That adaptive 'invisiblity' tech is quite interesting. That first vid with the soldier running towards the tank is just poor quality video though. He's wearing desert camo, in the desert and the vid is grainy. It's no surprise you can't really make out his form until he's in front of a dark grey tank.

Picasso of plates could be a number of people.

I'm going for Schlem though after his 5 regurgitated dishes served up on one plate pic.

I dunno man there's more to it than simple camo imo, like I and you both said its awful quality, but imo the part where you don't see him, I see a transparent silhouette of sorts, almost an effect around that silhouette that's a like heat bending/distorting an image, (i forget the proper term for it) I'll go for photosynthesis for now <laugh>

But then I remember a point I made to spurly in the original convo...

    Exhibit A:
Oh they've deffo got the tanks done, certain of that.

A soldiers uniform/kit would be.. I'd imagine a lot more difficult to do than on a big tank, besides when you think about it there's not much point making all your grunts invisible, too much of an expense to justify, but a tank, chopper, plane, ship... Those are worth doing it on, they are ****ing expensive.

Namean bruv, its the war machine init, u know the score.

So what ya reckon, would there be much point in cloaking ground troops and alike would it be financially viable?

Perhaps special ops, can't see them giving the minimum wage grunts that kinda tech tbh

I swear when I was a kid they demonstrated an anti-gravity device on tomorrow's world that was being tested by the military, never heard of it again.
