Just been having a look at their new website: http://www.saintsfoundation.co.uk/ Really quite interesting, and another positive off-the-field development under the Liebherr/Cortese axis. I don't live in Hampshire but it seems like they're very pro-active and have been and continue to do a lot for people. Was just having a flick through the different sections and watching some of the videos of people's stories on there. Decent stuff, always enjoy seeing the fundraisers that the club endorse. A real positive aspect that has been developed and integrated off-the-field that the press seem to ignore when talking about Cortese's negative points as a chairman who is just in it for himself. (yes, Martin Samuel). Anyway, I'll post the video link and leave it to anyone who wants to watch, read or comment. Videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/SaintsFoundationTV?feature=watch DTLW
I'm not really that interested in what the club does off the field in the community, I think that goes beyond football it affects the Southampton FC as a business but I can't really relate to that. I care about how the players behave and if they are good people, even things like lallana holding the young mascots hands is good to see. I have only had a brief look at that website but it seems like a commercial advertisement for Southampton. after having a closer look, I am quite impressed with what the foundation has done, Genuinely great work, they're not going in for the easy celebrity style charity mission which is repulsive.
Yeah they do great work, I bet one of the guys at work £20 that Saints would stay up at the start of the season but told him to give the money to the Saints Foundation in the end as he asked for money from all his relatives for Christmas and gave it all to charity, good lad.
Blimey mate. You know how to cover yourself in glory. It's a great part of the club and they do shed loads of good work. You should try signing up for one of their fund raisers.
Tbh I didn't even have a proper look at their website, I pretty much just looked at the front page before I wrote that first bit. After having a closer look I am impressed with what they do and am grateful that the club cares enough to put millions back into the community.
Good! Whether you had looked at the site or not, it was still a pretty dismissive comment to make about any charity organization. Honest, but dismissive.
