Following my recent post on City's form or lack of,where are you know on the potential crisis that is unfolding before your eyes?

    http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/174031-McInness-to-follow-Coyle-if-results-dont-improve

So now its 3 from 11 and 21st in the league....... BCFC have suffered more than a blip in form it is now a full blown slump.

The last time City actually won was in September against bottom of the league Posh

Lets look at the records Derek McInnes moved from SPL side St Johnstone in October 2011. City ultimately endured a poor season,The Robins began the 2011/12 campaign very poorly and were stuck in or just above the relegation zone for the majority of the season. Results gradually improved under McInnes but consistency was a major problem for the club and eventually ended up down in 20th, just two places above the relegation zone.

Since 2007 Bristol City have been playing in the Championship.Other than the first seasons excitement, the following four seasons have been very average for a club with lofty promotion ambitions.

With no improvement on the horizon...... are you for? or against ? a change of manager and if its time for McInness to go who do you feel should be brought in to rescue the season?

Why do you really feel the need to come on here and write this all the time?

If it was not a Wum why not just ask do we still think McInnes is the one for us?

Yes you've had some decent results but your far from a perch to question us <doh>

Well Carry on Rovers I suppose that this gives your original comment some credence.
No I am not 100% satisfied but then after the various management failures at our club over so many years, I have learnt something during my 69 years on this planet.

That Rome wasn't built in a day, and any incoming manager must have time to sort out the mess that he inherited.
Just look at some of the really successful managers and see that they took a couple or three years to begin to shape the success that went on for many years in some cases. Thank goodness the clubs were not the hire and fire sort.
Bill Shankly took a couple of seasons to get Liverpool out of Div 2 and another two before they won the 1st Division.
Alec Ferguson almost lost his job about 3/4 years into his managership.
Lawrie McMenemy actually took Southampton down from Div 1 in his first season but got them back quickly and won the FA Cup 3 seasons later.
More locally, Alan Dicks hardly pulled up trees between 1967 and 1973 but is still our most successful manager ever.
Fred Ford came from Rovers and took five seasons of real disappointment to get City up in 1965.
And there are a multitude of managers throughout history who have been at a club that gave them a chance to build rather than sacking for a few poor results.
What if all of those had been fired after a few months? What a travesty sacking any of these would have been!

The great majority of Bristol City fans are prepared to give Derek McInnes the time he needs because while it's not all roses and violets at present, we can see a great deal of progress right through the club compared with a year ago when he and Doc arrived.

I suggest you all at the Mem start supporting your manager. He may not be my ideal but he's what you got so stop stirring.

    Thanks Cidered appreciate considered comments

Personally I think unfortunately that times have moved on from Sir Alex Fergusons time and Shanks and that football management results game has a shorter fuse than in those days.In part due to the difference in funding from League to league perhaps in the championship a manager would have a greater time to shape a team than say in the Prem where the finances are speculated on staying up.

McInnes seems to have built a good nucleus of a squad however the midfield and defence is not quite there yet and needs further surgery, I say this on the back of comments from my family (father included) who are lifelong City fans so other than the ripe asides, I have no ax to grind just because I am a Rovers supporter other than good natured banter.

Contrary to that fact I have spent many hrs discussing the cost of running City or clubs in general with your ex chairman who is an excellent and serious business man and total supporter of Bristol sport in general.

I do support the current manager at the mem who also hails from north of the border and am prepared to give him the time he needs to shape our club for the future however we like you need to preserve our status Championship for you and L2 (at the moment) for us if this was threatened I would consider all options to preserve that which is the main tennant of my question.

You have been supporting the Robins for a few more decades than I have been supporting Rovers so thumbs up to you.

We get a lot of City supporters on our forum whilst there might be a little bit of fun in my posting it is a serious question if you drop into the relegation spots then City supporters will shout out from the rooftops after last years finish I am sure you do not wish for L2 next season.

I agree he may sort it out but time is in shorter supply than you know.

On your logic then McGhee must also be on his way out, as last time I looked you were in the bottom 4 of the lowest league in English Pro football. Worry about the dire situation of your team than worry about us..........

Rovers did not cover themselves in glory last night either. Both teams need to bounce back and win on Saturday.

Something needs to change for you and quick with Hull next up on Saturday, surely it should be the manager.

Based on your logic that we should change our manager, then don't you think you should be more worried about yours

Get your own house in order before commenting on ours <doh>
