How many of you are interested in this biennial event. Starts on Friday and I for one just can’t wait. US of A seem to have the better players overall but we, in the past, have had the better team. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/golf/45561920 Love the format and it seems to bring out some of the best golf in a lot of players particularly the Urope players such as Seve (my favourite player of all time), Olazabal, Poulter et al. Think the Americans will just win this time but you never know.
Nah... Woods is awful in these matches, the US haven't won away in like 28 years, the Europeans have played this course more, so I think this has all the hallmarks of a battering.
As it happens, I've just started playing again so will defo be up for watching the Ryder Cup. The last day can be great viewing.
I always thought this, then I randomly got in golfing games because multiplayer with mates is quite fun, then I just ended up watching golf. It is hands down the ****test sport, but meh, it's sport. Anything to stop the ****ing First Dates, Bake-Off, Teen Mom monopoly...
Yeah, they're full of **** though. Unless it's American football., Actually I used to play it years back and quite liked it but could never watch it. Same goes for snooker, I'm not sitting through hours or days in a row of that.
The time a few years ago when Rose beat Mickelson was great viewing. I don't like all the shouting that goes on though...U S A and get in the hole to name two.
Agree. Just wish one of the golfers the “shouters” are supporting would turn round and say “shut up you plonker” or something similar. Has to be toned down in order to make all the replays and highlights.
Sure golf is one of the few sports where watching on telly is better than being there. Think though that its a very individual event so doesn't work great as a team sport. To be honest the only reason the Ryder Cup got interesting was because we started winning a few. Love to play the game but it can be frustrating as ****.
Love it,will be glued to the telly, used to play when I was younger good exercise if like me you usually have to play off two fairways
I always treated it as a day at the beach. My wife always found it bemusing how I (and most others) can criticise a shot from a top Pro' when they probably play 3/4 bad shots a round and my game was good if I played 3/4 good shots in a round.
I absolutely love the Ryder Cup. Got the day off tomorrow, playing in a comp at the golf club and then watching the action there all afternoon with a few beers. Weather is beautiful here at the moment also.
Bournemouth. Sunny cool autumn weather. Perfect for golf. Safe to say I'm looking forward to a day out of the office.
That's where I think we might struggle a bit. It's going to be quite a different experience for say Olesen and Hatton. Both good golfers but it's a totally different heat you have got to handle in the Ryder cup. Molinari and Fleetwood against Tiger and Reed should be a great battle.
