    We're on 60 Points.

Imo we need 70+ to secure Top 4 so let's say 72 points tally.

We have 7 games remaining with possible 21 pts available:

    Villa (H)
    Brighton (A)
    West Ham (A)
    Wolves (H)
    Bournemouth (A)
    Chelsea (H)
    Fulham (H)

Where/When do we get the 12 points needed?

Was saying to a mate last night I'd be happy with three points in the Villa game (we're both going) if we beat Spurs. We didn't of course, so I think we need to look to win that now, given it's at home.

So, home win v Villa, draw away at Brighton, beat West Ham, beat Wolves, beat Bournemouth, beat Chelsea, beat Fulham.

Comfortably, imho, because that's 19 points.

We could afford to not have to beat Villa or Chelsea tbf, a draw would suffice. But they are at home so we should look to win those games. West Ham away isn't must win but it's must not lose.

I think it would be good to have the points on the board needed before the Chelsea game so the squad has a good 2/3 weeks to recover for the Cup final.

And also bcos it'll be nail biting otherwise!

Let City run themselves ragged hopefully.

Btw 19 points would mean a total of 79 pts and we'd average over 2 pts per game for the season.

We've only just managed to average 2 pts for a few weeks so I'm not sure we'll manage above it come the end of the season.

I don’t think freshness will come into it on the day. If City gets into finals of champions league, they will psychologically gain momentum to complete the treble.

But then again, we know of a team that was going to win it all last year.

Fairly sure we won't win all those I mention but, to be honest, there isn't a single fixture remaining that I'm thinking "we'll lose this".

No mate I didn't mean right up to the final.

I meant hopefully run themselves ragged getting knocked out in the semi's.

And going for the league (which I'm fairly sure they'll manage).

I don't want to sound negative but almost every game seems to be a carbon copy atm. Running out of steam in the 2nd leg and giving up any impetus in the game.

    Our first 11's looking knackered.

If we can get Garnacho back it would just lift us because we'll have another quality player and that energy.

It was always going to happen.

Has he given up going to the Youth World Cup to see us through to the end of the season?

The article on the United web site mentioned the fact he plays for Argentina but not the youth World cup.

Tbh I caught a headline yesterday, didn't read the story so may have got the wrong end of the stick.

I think he wanted to go and play but ETH has blocked him. perhaps the length and value of the contract represents a sweetener for him staying to play the rest of the domestic season

Didn't get to see today's game but a good result against a team unbeaten in their last ten games. With our next three games against teams that are 13th, 14th and 15th, hopefully by the time we play them they will all be firmly out of the relegation zone and their minds will be on far off beaches.

Was at the game, a very decent performance against a well organised Villa in good form.

Could have done with a couple more goals but we were on top throughout. Sancho could do with taking the odd shot here and there, he goes down too many blind alleys.

I thought Sabitzer was decent, see no reason why not to sign him up permanently if available.

I liked the look of McGinn of Villa if we need a more under the radar player to come in.
    Watkins didn't show much.

I like the idea of keeping Sabitzer, he is far more combative and experienced than some of our other options and I seem to recall mention of him being available for something like £25m in which case I'd sign him and recover more than that fee my selling McTominay

I like Sabitzer too as our best back up option.

Villa played a high line which helped. I'd like to see him breaking open a deeper defence though.

Very happy with the result yesterday.

Brighton will be another tough game on Thursday.

Once we get past next weekend, the rest of the games are finally going to be once a week!!

This is the best news about the club I’ve read in a while.

on form (no jinx!) we should beat Chelsea. But football is unpredictable especially this season. I think that realistically we should win our home matches. And if we get one win out of the away matches I’d be happy.
