The first 20 Swans' Stars will be inducted into "The Robbie James Wall of Fame" during it's unvailing prior to tomorrow's clash with Everton. The list is ... Jack Fowler. Roger Freestone. Bob Latchford. Mel Nurse. Herbie Williams. Alan Curtis. Cyril Pearce. Harry Griffiths. Ivor Allchurch. James Thomas. Nick Cusack. Brian Evans. Keith Walker. John Toshack. Wilf Milne. Lee Trundle. Whyndham Evans. Dudley Lewis. Len Thompson. John Cornforth. There will be 10 further inductees each year over a 10 year period. No doubt some of today's "Stars" will be allocated a place on the "Wall",in the fullness of time. To my mind, there are some strange omissions from the list, and I hope that space can eventually be found for the likes of Roy Paul,Cliff Jones,Mel Charles,Jeremy Charles,Leighton James, and Roberto Martinez, and a host of others. Perhaps the "Wall" should not even be restricted to 100 names. The beauty of "lists" is that we all have opinions as to who should be on them. What do you think?
I get the impression that the "Wall" is intended for players/player managers,so BR wouldn't qualify. However, special dispensation could be made for him,I suppose. Then someone would put up a case for Brian Flynn, etc. What about Dr.Huw Jenkins, and Malcolm Struel?
Brendan Rodgers wasn't here long enough compared to the Swans legends that are going on that wall to even be considered.
