I think our club is making progress.

The objective seems to be to create a stable environment where young players of quality can grow together into a winning team in the longer term. The strategy appears to be to purchase or get on loan, with a view to purchasing, a mixture of proven quality players along with younger players with potential. (SB stated summer priorities are to replace Bent and sign permanently our loanees)

Is this the right way forward for a club of our size/finances? Will we ever be able to compete at the Highest Level? Maybe not. If so what is a realistic target for SAFC over the next three years (Cups Vs League?) and what players do we need to hold onto?

For Me Competing in Europe No1 goal.
Players we need to keep if possible Gordon/Onouha/Turner/Meyler/Muntari/Henderson/Wellbeck/Gyan

I would go along with that mate, when these new rules kick in, big cash signings will start to suffer and become a thing of the past, in fact it could be that players on clubs books actually depreciate in value.

Add Cattermole to that list of players to keep, we certainly miss him when he doesn't play.

We need to make europe somehow in the next 3 years, this will help us to attract even better payers and push on.

I don't expect us to win the leaugue any time soon, regular europe woul'd do for me.

You could be right about cattermole DS.I just feel he lacks the pace necessary to become a great player.

Aye maybe, time will tell though.
I think alot of us forget how young cattermole is, can only see him getting better and there are plenty of other DM's around with less pace than Lee.
