Assuming he goes through with this as in the article, this has to be the correct decision by Craig to prolong his club career. It worked for Giggs and it can be argued that Craig (74 caps) has committed more to Wales than Giggs (64 caps) ever did.

An interesting fact from Talksport earlier this week, 7 players have scored for 6 different Premier clubs. Assuming he scores for us this coming season Craig will be the first player to score for 7 different Prem clubs. What an achievement!!!

For the record the current 6'ers are: -

Andrew Cole (for Newcastle United, Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Fulham, Manchester City, Portsmouth)
Les Ferdinand (for Queens Park Rangers, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Leicester City, Bolton Wanderers)
Marcus Bent (for Charlton Athletic, Everton, Ipswich Town, Leicester City, Crystal Palace, Wigan Athletic)
Nick Barmby (for Liverpool, Everton, Leeds United, Middlesbrough, Tottenham Hotspur, Hull City)
Craig Bellamy (for Coventry City, Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers, Liverpool, West Ham United, Manchester City)
Peter Crouch (for Aston Villa, Southampton, Liverpool, Portsmouth, Tottenham Hotspur, Stoke City)
Robbie Keane (for Aston Villa, Coventry City, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Leeds United, West Ham United)

Quite a diverse bunch with some very accomplished strikers so how the hell did Marcus Bent manage to get on there? <yikes>

Tremendous servant to Wales and good to see him now concentrating upon playing for the Giants of Welsh football.

There comes a time in a players career where he must choose club over country in order to extend their playing career. With Craigs well documented injuries I do not think anyone would begrudge him retiring from International football at this stage of his career. I think we can all agree he has done well for Wales and has shown the dedication others seem to lack. So thank you Craig bellamy, a Welsh legend and great example on the football pitch.

Wouldn't get in our side. Would struggle to get in our match day squad ;)

A fantastic servant for Welsh football, if the current crop all shared his desire and determination to win in the Welsh jersey we will make major international tournaments on a regular basis <ok>
