Although I am still on the fence on whether MH should go, it seems as if the writing is on the wall win, lose or draw against Southampton.

Which brings me to his possible replacement.

I like Harry Redknapp but for me he is not the right man for us. We have had enough dramas at the club in recent years without bringing in someone who has more skeletons in his closet than a Tory MP. He is also an old school manager and I believe the club needs a younger more modern day manager who can have an input into the infrastructure of the club like Wenger has done at Arsenal. (And like Hughes is currently doing at QPR)

Looking at who would be readily available the list doesnt exactly fill me optimism but for me there is one name that stands out and that is Rafa Benitez.

Benitez is an organiser. His teams are always well drilled, hard to beat but they also played decent football. He would instantly command the respect of the players and I think that is vital at this point.

Downside is he would command a large contract and he would probably want a decent transfer kitty in January but then so would 'Arry!

If all else fails lets get this guy out of retirement........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obixCOVTVwY

    Your thoughts.

    My thoughts ?

Firstly I think if we scrape even a point against soton tony will tell us it's all good and will stuck with Hughes. He has a blind spot here caused by the fear of looking stupid by having to sack his own man

Would Benitez want to take on a relegation threatened team? I doubt it. He'll have far better options

I have to say Arry would I think get them playing as a team and surely survival now is the only target

Has a manager even been given a contract for short term?

Like till the end of the season?

Not sure but wasn't Avram Grant on something like that at Chelsea and West Ham, although to get someone in to us who's any use would take a fair wedge not to mention a massive survival bonus.

I think its the Benitez type managers that we do not need and Harry is a motivator and gets the best of of players.I think Harry would have the same effect Warnock had when we were in trouble.Harry is not big on tactic but players want to play for him....and we get Defoe,Crouch and Dawson in Jan

We need the tactics sorted, weve looked clueless all season. Redknapps solution is to throw money at it but we have a good enough team plus a forward and CB to stay up. HR will want to overhaul the team and we havent got time.

We are more like the Saints he relegated than the spurs team he kept up.
