According to the Fail, Matt Fryatt could be on his way back into the City squad. Is that likely? Hull City: Could Matty Fryatt find himself back in the Tigers fold? please log in to view this image MATTY Fryatt will discuss a possible return to the Hull City fold next week after completing his loan with Sheffield Wednesday this weekend. The 27-year-old striker has gained valuable game time in his spell back in the Championship under Dave Jones at Hillsborough, but will see his time in South Yorkshire come to an end after Saturday's derby clash at Barnsley. The Owls have been keen to keep Fryatt on, but with Tigers boss Steve Bruce insisting the door had not been closed on a potential return to the City side, talks will be held after the weekend. With Danny Graham currently out with severe bruising to his knee, and City also looking to play a largely changed side at Tottenham in the Capital One Cup next Wednesday, Fryatt's chances of pulling on a Tigers shirt again may have improved. Jones has already expressed his interest in extending Fryatt's time in the Steel City, whilst reports have suggested Nottingham Forest, who missed out on signing the former Leicester hitman on transfer deadline day, may come back in with an offer. However, Fryatt's agent Mark Taylor says nothing has been discussed with any club as yet, with Fryatt first due to speak to City. "We have heard nothing at the minute so at present Matty is focusing on the final game of his loan spell against Barnsley this weekend," he said. "He has had four games there and got some football under his belt. Matty has played well, and he of course scored a goal in his first start. "We are just looking to get this weekend's game out of the way before talking about where Matty goes from here. Nothing has been discussed or decided as of yet." http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/story-19981417-detail/story.html?
I wouldn't be surprised if we do bring him back in. Graham is out for a few weeks, Gedo is now injured too, Mclean won't be considered and Proschwitz isn't rated either. We're running out of options, I think Brucey might even be considering Quinn on the left and Brady as a striker if things get any worse.
I'd prefer that, I think Meyler could even be a striker, he can run at a player with the ball, goes down easily in the box & scored a few last season too.
His loan period is up tomorrow, after the Barnsley - Wendies game. So he could get a run-out against Spurs in the Cup.
What happened to all the Fryatt bum lickers from a few months ago? Did you finally work out that hes terrible?
He's far from terrible and you lot well know it. He had a serious injury that kept him out almost an entire season, and hasn't had a chance to get on the pitch to get back up to scratch - because he wasn't up to scratch. Catch 22. Whether he's good enough for us now remains to be seen, it may never be seen, but he's a top quality championship striker without doubt.
Our top scorer in the Championship two seasons running. Yeah he's well **** He hasn't played in the PL yet, so we don't know if he's any good at this level or not.
I said, before this on another thread, that I thought a return possible. I have had a bit of banter in the past about this lad - for me his 'prolific' (sic) spells are too few and far between, but when on song he is a handful and knows where the net is - this is one of them times when needs must - get him back - it will send a huge message out to our forwards.
