We need the passion we had back in the days of Nolan, Carroll and Barton. It's no surprise that it was under them, that we enjoyed some of our most impressive football over the last decade.

Now, those three are all plying their trade down in London at the moment, and two of them are unattainable, as they simply play for a better team (or at least as dull).

But we know Joey never wanted to leave. We never wanted him to leave. He never complained about playing out of position, wide right. Instead, he got on with his job and pinged in some fantastic balls for Carroll.

I dare say if he came back, he would be the best crosser of the ball at our club. He mightn't possess the guile of Cabaye or the temperament of....well anybody, but would you have him back?

I don't respect the guy, and he's been an absolute idiot in recent times. His insults on Twitter towards players that have achieved far more in the game, such as Dietmar Hamann, Neymar and Thiago Silva have been below the belt, and quite disgusting.

I've heard that he's a nice guy, and he didn't give us a moment's trouble under Hughton, but all you have to do is cast your mind back to May 13, 2011, to see the real ugly side of Barton.

So I would be torn. I'm not really sure if I'd welcome him back. But on the other hand, he gives 110% every game, and that's something we have been missing for some time.

No room for mouthpieces at this club. Tow the line or fck off is the message, there's no chance in hell he's coming back.

My opinion - he's at his level. Ligue1/Championship player for me.

Did we? Seemed very give the ball to Barton, cross it in for Carroll and if that doesnt work, Nolan will feed off the knock down.

The best football we have played since Sir Bobby's team was at the end of the 11/12 season, which happened to be the season after all 3 of them had left. We don't need them in the team to start winning games again - their passion didn't get us the 5th place finish. Fair enough it got us promoted and mid table.

A fit and firing Ben Arfa, a confident Cisse, a replacement for Cabaye of equal quality and someone willing to be a nuisance ala Demba Ba is what is needed. Oh and for Tiote to find the player he was again.
