How could I forget who told tales about the Club's last tour of Ireland (mentioned in the other thread): it was of course Simon Morgan. And a sup of Guinness on that trip clearly made a world of a difference. But moving on from there, fifteen years ago yesterday evening (24th April 2001) something special was brewing at the Cottage. The Legend made his first appearance of the season in Tigana's premiership promotion winning side. please log in to view this image Morgan had been sidelined with injuries to both knees since the end of the previous season and when he came on as a sub in this game against Wolves, the crowd went daft. Every time he touched the ball he was cheered - even his throw-ins got applauded - and what a standing ovation at the end! After the game Simon said, "It was absolutely fantastic for me to get on and to be able to say I have been part of three promotion-winning teams. This team will go down in Fulham history and being part of it is something to tell the grandchildren, that's for sure." For the record, Fulham won 2-0.
Great memories, and remember we had a run of bad seasons before out of the blue promotion happened, maybe a repeat next season!
