Similar to Astro's Homer Simpson award thread, what was something you have stated or said recently ( with regards to LFC) that you would like to take back or atone for? Here is a thread I would love to see MFG in as he SLAUGHTERED Rodgers at every turn yet, well, turns out he was a bit wrong! Mine would probably be Suarez at the beginning of the season. I thought, given his posture, his attitude, Carra talking about how different Suarez was in the Gerrard testimonial, that he was just spitting the dummy out to get the move. When he stayed, I was worried he was not going to give his all and just look to get out ( You could see the same signs with Torres back when). I honestly didn't expect him to not just come round but have this type of season. He may still leave, big possibility of that, but think it would now only be to a Real, barca, PSG, someone with some cash and a foreign league at this point. Think Spurs show just how much you can miss that key player, the one who can get goals and pull you out of tough spots. So, your retribution, what sins would you like to confess. please log in to view this image
I remember you were against Studge for the velcro boot syndrome but Coutinho? I think many were wetting the appetite for Sneijder though.
I wanted Sneijder but never believed it would happen. I was set against Coutinho, I didn't know anything about him so just assumed it was another youngster with potential, never expected the impact he made. My Sturridge issue was (and continues to be at times) his velcro boots. He made a run yesterday where I was screaming at the TV because he should have pass to Sterling who was open to his right. Danny got a freekick about twenty yards out as a result though so everyone will praise him for it.
I thought we would struggle without Enrique and I didn't have any confidence in Flanagan as a back up.
I wasn't keen when I saw his name on the team sheet, I was very happy within thirty minutes. It'll be the other way a round now, IMO Johnson is our third choice FB.
Good shout. Another one I think many of us were guilty of, think there is a thread too about it, is Sterling. I thought Ibe was going to surpass him due to his attitude....
i have probably said a few stupid things i shouldn't regarding our players, cant think of any though at the mo though.
I once said give hodgson time... I've been waiting for years to get that off my chest... Thanks, Bluff...
I think he is starting to cut out some of the bonehead stuff, the grabbing and pulling, silly fouls, etc. I get more frustrated with Agger these days. #nojinx Joe Allen still isn't exactly what we want but he is what our squad probably needs at the moment. Gerrard in the holding position was a head scratcher for many too.
I have to say I never thought Suarez would sulk once he'd resigned himself to the fact that he was staying. I don't often have a go at players but I have given Johnno a bit of stick for seemingly losing interest. One decent game doesn't change all of that, but his reaction to the first goal showed a little bit of fire. I had serious doubts about Hendo making it after seeing him in his first season. I liked him, thought he had a lot of passion and energy but seemed a little out of his depth. I'd have a great deal of respect for MFG if he came on here and admitted he was wrong. Surely if he's a true fan then he should be happy for us, even if it does contradict his expectations?
On many occassions earlier in the season, i said that gerrard was vitally important to the squad, but certainly should not be starting from here on in. I was wrong
Make sure you are sitting down for this... Skrtel is our best defender now and should in no way be sold in the summer UNLESS we get a off we can't refuse; aka £20m+. That won't happen. I think he has been superb this season, especially since cutting out the rugby approach after getting targeted earlier in the season for it. IMO, Flanno, Skrtel, Sakho and Enrique are all very good individually, can they form a very good backline though?
1. I was quite vocal about Hendo at the end of last season, I said he had no vision 2. I thought Flanno was one for the scrap-heap, especially after the first Arsenal game earlier this season 3. I also thought Sterling had stagnated and desperately needed to go on loan. Shortly after I said that he got a run of games and upped his game to the next level
Hate to be a bitch, but what about all of those who said we'd ****ed up for 4th place by not buying a name in January? Come clean now....
I don't think I said we ****ed it up but I thought we missed a chance to nail it/cement it/insure it. Either way, we did it lol.
