Credit to SJW10's post on which 3 players, got me thinking. Which 3 players from your own club from the past 15 years, would you like to see in the current team now as a 21 year old and at their peak, to compliment the current side? For example, Man U might want a 21 year Keane, Scholes and Schmeical, as their central midfield and GK are possibly their weaker areas. I'd probably have to go for: Vieira Pires (although not sure he'd fit our current system) Henry Notable mentions obviously to Bergkamp, Cole, Adams, Freddie, Overmars and of course Paul Merson.
Adams - Goes without saying. Vieira - Him and Arteta would make a great pairing in the heart of midfield. Henry - Played as the lone CF in our run to the 2006 CL final and was class. Just imagine Cazorla playing them slide rule passes to Henry.
Adams - Best CB we've ever had, best we'll probably ever have. Winterburn - We have issues at LB. This guy would solve them. Bergkamp - we'd be mad not to.
Adams - arsenals greatest defender. Berkamp- sheer class. Henry - would love to have ann Henry berkamp partnership again. Only this time with both players around the same age.
If you watch the invincibles highlights you realize how much went via Henry-Pires-Bergkamp. The defense was good but it was going forward that we excelled. I think those 3 would have led ANY team to victory.
Gilberto was pretty average defensively in his penultimate season, and an absolute calamity in his last season for us. That's why. His appearances in that last season were really inexplicable, I've never cringed harder watching games than when he played for us that season.
