just wondered how much the players on the silly premiershp contracts handed out by duffen n co amount too. mcshane, kilbane, olifinjana, ghilas and cairney. be interesting to see what our budget is for next season if we move them all on, maybe not cairney.
Cairney signed his contract after AP returned. http://www.hullcityafc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10338~2006756,00.html Kilbane is on £13k/wk (£676k pa) and is out of contract so that will be saved. McShane, Olofinjana, and Ghilas have a year left on what ever they're earning. Even if we offload them we're not necessarily saving their wages, we might have to pay them some to top up their wages where ever they go. The only other point is that at the start of this season we were told that NP had been given the budget he would get regardless, and that the 5 PL hangovers (Bullard, Kilbane, Ghilas, Olofinjana, McShane) weren't included because the Allams were going to pay those costs for us.
will kilbane get a revised coach contract do you think or is he just doing that till his contract is up?
McShane had a relegation wage drop clause, but remains on around £16k. Olofinjana I believe is still on £20k, and Ghilas is around £14k (I think). £50k p/w amounts to £2.6m. Hopefully we can shift all of them before the end of their contracts.
It'll depend on whether he still thinks he can play somewhere or not. Either way he's going to be on a hell of a lot less than £13k a week.
Ghilas is the most highly paid now, he's the only one that still hits £20k a week, Oli and Macca fall just below at something like £18k a week and Kilbane is on £13k as you've already mentioned. We'll automatically lose the wages of Kilbane, Adebola, Garcia, Brady, Mannone, Gulacsi, Atkinson and King(unless we sign any of them), at the end of this season.
I thought we had this discussion about 3-4 months ago, and drew the conclusion that Ghilas was on £14k-£16k? I'll take your word for it anyway
Hang on, this might be easier. For next season this is what we've got as things stand is: GK: N/A (Cracknell maybe) DL: Dudgeon, Dawson (agreed terms but not signed as far as we know) CB: Chester, Hobbs, Cooper RB: Rosenior, McShane, East (presumably) DM: Evans, Olofinjana, Cairney, McKenna LW: Stewart, Devitt RW: Ghilas ACM: Koren ST: Fryatt, McLean, Simpson And it's going to be an interesting 18 months or so contract wise. For the season after next what we're currently left with is 7 players: Dudgeon, Chester, Hobbs, Evans, Stewart, Fryatt, Mclean.
I've had it confirmed by one of our management team, that Ghilas is the best paid player at the club, bizarrely.
Didn't Kilbane take a wage cut after we were relegated and when we were in trouble? one of the few that did.............
Given the expenses of Blackpool, Burnley et al on falling out the arse of the Prem, perhaps the Boro model was the one to follow? BORO fans can see the full details of the club’s financial situation today after it revealed a loss of just under £14m and a wage bill of more than £36m. That's despite - Chief executive Neil Bausor said: "Our parent company has backed MFC at the level of approximately £1m per month.
Kilbane swapped a 1 year £26k a week contract for a 2 year £13k a week deal. Not quite a cut but a very helpful gesture. Most, if not all of the others took wage deferrals to help the club get through last summer. McShane definitely did. They still got their money in the end but again, it was a decent gesture. Unfortunately the football creditors rule means that no player has to take a cut because they'll always get their money unless the club is liquidated. Makes Kilbane's gesture all the more special. Mind you, he's probably the highest paid reserve team manager in football right now!
Slightly skewed by it being for an 18 month period and not a 12 month one. EDIT: Referring to M'oro's results.
