I know we have had red on the shirt before. I own a red and blue Chelsea quartered baseball cap, which many a time Chelsea Plastics have given me verbal abuse thinking it was a Palace one. Commodore brought a lot of red to Chelsea merchandise, we even had an extremely red away kit. This Yokohama red Y though sheessshh I've absolutely hated it from day one. It sits there on the right breast like a boil in the middle of a face. I have no problem with Yokohama Tyres or rubber goods in general it is just that Y. Why the Y! Well no it isn't to be honest I hate the whole shirt and and the Y is so conspicuous (the whole point for the advertisers) that it became the focal point for my ermmmm disappointment. Once I got past the huge, glaring, trumpet of the Why?, as it shall now be called, the saw how creased the front of the shoulders are made by the silly button up collar, which serves no function what so ever. You make a shirt out of climacool (tm) technology, easy wash no crease, and you crease it up deliberately! It just makes the top line look ugly. I understand a certain amount of shiny fabric suggests a modern, forward thinking, scientific go ahead attitude, but this shirt just looks cheap material blinged up, which is terrible because it isn't cheap. I thought OK wait for the away shirt.......................aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that red Why is even worse on black and the white kit looks like a 1980's French nylon wet dream. So it came to this, that the 'Jade' keepers shirt was actually the best option and we all know that the last time Chelsea had jade on the shirt it was one of the most hideous kits in the known universe. Five year deal is it? No redesign for two years to protect customer loyalty? Can I hold out that long? Maybe I should just listen to the radio during matches till then.
lol, have to agree on the Why? Is a blot on our kit to be honest. I think the black looks slightly better though,
Havent seen the offending shirt yet, will take a look when I get back from Rome next week. It sounds revolting. I think I'll stick with my old and well loved "Zola" shirt, a modern day classic.
IMO most Premiership kits look the pits. Take a look a Brighton's away kit against Ipswich. Now that is cool. Also Reading's away kit.
