How come we never seem to play well for a full 90 minutes? Over the course of the last few seasons ( and this new season thus far ) we seem to have become a team that ( very ) regularly only performs in one half ( more often than not, the 2nd ). Why do we seem, no matter what team is selected, to always start out like we have turned up play in a Sunday league pre-season friendly? We rarely seem to come out fired up from the start......and need a kick up the arse to get us going. Other teams fly out the blocks....why don't we anymore? ( and before certain posters say 'its a new team' and 'we need to gel' I'm talking about the last 2-3 seasons ). How come Qpr only seem to play 1 half of matches anymore?
It's a vicious cycle. We have been terrible when playing against teams who press us in midfield and are unable to keep the ball. Opposing coaches see this on video and adopt the tactic themselves. It's actually hard for any team to play against this while their opponents have the stamina to keep it up. We make more progress in the 2nd half as they tire.
We have been terrible when playing against teams who press us in midfield and are unable to keep the ball We make more progress in the 2nd half as they tire We struggle in the first half as we move it to slowly We move it too slowly as we play Karl Henry not Ale Faurlin Next question? Maybe a harder one please
A harder question might be Why do Luongo and Chery only play well together and get close together when Chery plays on the right and not when he plays on the left ? Which incidentally also only happens in the second half
Excellent point and question. Before we all answer or condemn it is that really any different from what happens to other teams. When is the last time one of the galactico sides bossed a difficult game against an also ran for the full 90 minutes. Here's another one for you all. Why do we support the team and manager when it's all going well but rubbish them every time they lose?
One can only surmise but this is where a good manager comes into play. People skills, knowing when to push them and when not. It is a very fine line between being too friendly with the players and being too distance. For me, players need to have a little fear of the manager, if not, they won't push themselves to please the manager each week. From someone standing from afar, Chris seems too nice ............... ( I could be wrong ) The players already have the skill, a quality manager can bring that out more often then not. Maybe were suffering from 'the not'.
